If you keep in touch with either the cinema or comic world (and, chances are, if you're checking this site, you follow both), you don't need me to tell you what Kick-Ass is, but if you do, here is the basic plot: a bored teenager, Dave Lizewski, a regular guy and comic book geek, wondered why there were no real-life superheroes ("Why do people prefer to get an average job that they hate rather than helping their fellow citizen?" if something you've probably asked…
Alright I'm just gonna be blunt here I'm not someone who buys into a lot of the hype for movies especially comic book superhero movies because I know if I let myself buy into the hype then the movie will most likely be shit. But when I saw previews of Kick Ass I couldn't help but buy into the hype I mean it was a Mark Millar adaptation that seemed faithful to the source material unlike the movie Wanted where they just took a huge shit on the source material and called it a movie.
I finished watching Kick Ass roughly an hour ago, so believe me when I tell you it's fresh in my mind. You, like myself, will have read at least a couple of reviews on here and elsewhere (Empire.com has one) praising the film. Frankly I haven't heard a bad thing said about it to be honest. Well, except about the ending being a bit much, but otherwise it's praised as being the new king of comic book movies.
Well, things are going to be a little different around here. Here's my review of… Continue
Fictional violence has to be one of the oddest things to entertain us. It’s ten times more extravagant than any real-life bloodshed, yet we cheer it on. We line up to see endless unfortunates butchered by the…
I find it incredibly difficult to comprehend the levels of disappointment that I had felt after this films credits rolled. This film had a bigger build up than any film that I remember. Cloverfield had nothing on this bitch. I was so overly hyped just by the eittle snippets and hints that the gave to this movies production in the HBO special:
Comic Books Unbound. I spent almost a half-hour just trying to find a downloadable trailer…
Meaning since not a whole lot of LEOG or even fellow Spill members will write about this comic then I guess I’ll have to. In the last few years Gears of War has become one of the most iconic video games in modern entertainment. Huge guys with huge guns kill huge enemies for huge enjoyment says Game Informer magazine and X-Plays Adam Sessler said that most gamers will say “Halo what?” and personally I believe him on that. It bloody as hell, the… Continue

1. Who are you?
My name is Ozma of Oz! I am a lover of weird movies, Jim Henson Muppets, Swedish Fish, cream soda and of course, comic books. When I am not drooling over Batman, Superman or the Martian Man Hunter, I'm attending college trying to get through and hopefully, waiting for the day I am able to move out of the house. My name comes from the young Princess Ruler of Oz named Ozma and yes, there is a princess of Oz. Read the books and you'll find out about… Continue
My fellow spilldos....The Time has Come to Make Our Voices Heard !!
There has been too much suffering in the Marvel Studio, and we need to put an END to it !!!
It's time we take a more active role and let the executives at Disney and Marvel know how we feel.
No more blaming on incompetent directors, No more blaming on arrogant studios, No more blaming on Korey "the vacuum molester" Coleman, NO MORE !!! Now, my brothers...will you join me ? Or will… Continue

I was just browsing around, bored, but all of the sudden..
i saw in the corner of my eye, Brian Michael Bendis said Thor is going to be an Extravaganza.
And i just had to see this :
Oh God this game has it all!! Sex, blow, million dollar hookers, and stolen children's candy.
Ok.. This game has none of that but still its awesome!!

Avatar Day: It's Like Eating A Delicious Sample...You're Pissed You Can't Get More.
It's Avatar Day! Today, thousands of fans world-wide had the opportunity to go to their local IMAX theater and see a sneak preview of James Cameron's new film Avatar. I just got home from the cinema and I was surprised at how many fans actually showed up to the screening. We were all eagerly lined up outside the IMAX and after a… Continue

Well, Variety is reporting that Ryan Reynolds has landed the job of Hal Jordan aka Green Lantern and I must say...I feel empty
I have been a fan of Ryan Reynolds since I saw him in Just Friends. I thought he was hilarious and after seeing some of his other works he actually became my top choice for Wally West aka The Flash.
But even though I am a fan, this recent news leaves me kind of uneasy for some reasons
1) Excitement?
I think the main reason why I'm… Continue
With the recent news that Captain America (the real one: Steve Rogers) is soon going to be resurrected, it reminded me of the plague that has been haunting the comic book industry for the past few decades: the death and resurrection of iconic characters. It has happened to Superman, Jean Grey, and… Continue
