Dan The Man's Oscar Predictions and Thoughts for 2011

So as everyone among the film community know, it is Oscar time babyyyyy!!! So that means get ready for some of the biggest upsets, wins, and probably tearful moments of the year. Shakespeare in Love (1998)

I actually like Shakespeare now because of this film.

What if a penniless William Shakespeare (Joseph Fiennes) fell in love with a noblewoman (Oscar-winner Gwyneth Paltrow) while struggling to write a comedy with the unlikely title "Romeo and Ethel the Sea Pirate's Daughter?" Might the emotional turmoil inspire him to recraft the play into a tragedy with a more familiar-sounding name?

I mostly heard of this film before, because at… Continue

Joel Schumacher - "A Man More Sinned Against Than Sinning."

Everyone remembers Batman and Robin. And with good reason; it's a travesty. But while much of the worst content, Joel Schumacher has claimed, was introduced by Warner Brothers marketing department, Schumacher has taken all the heat for the film. As one member of… Continue

Films For St. Patrick's Day

There's only two more days 'til the most green and drunk day of the year, and I've got some recommendations to get you in an Irish loving mood.

I Think This Helps Things Too.

A real modern classic this first one, it's Intermission.

It was released way back in 2003 and it stars Colm "Star Trek's… Continue

An Irish Film's Identity.

Is a film still French, or English, British, or Irish if it's completely funded by American companies? What about if the film's about London, has an English cast and crew? What if it has an American director and is financed by American money?

I'll tell you why I ask. Recently I was in a music shop called HMV. They're a major British music and film retail outlet. It's normally where I go to get films like [Rec] or Swept Away which aren't sold in the smaller DVD shops. I… Continue

Pride and Glory: Avery nice view about and actual problem

The case forces the family to choose between their loyalties to one another and their loyalties to the department. Its… Continue

Mamma Mia the Broadway hit musical arrives to movies with an very good version. If you watched and liked the musical then you will love the movie. I must say that this movie has everything, its entertaining, enjoyable, funny, it has a very nice rhythm. The story is great, the plot is excellent. It has a wonderful cast, Meryl Streep is excellent, her performance is flawless and she doesn't sing that bad, she looks that she really enjoyed this role. In Bruges Review

Foul-mouthed hitmen, racist dwarves, Crazy mafia bosses and overweight American tourists. All the things that make In Bruges fantastic.

You look at the trailer for In Bruges; you instantly think it’s a Guy Ritchie-like madcap hitman comedy, when actually while it is funny, it is much more dark and dramatic than expected. And it turns out to be a film that will definitely make my top 10 list this year.

The plot goes is that Colin Farrell plays a hitman called Ray who, on… Continue
