New 'Despicable Me 2' Trailer

The first trailers for the upcoming animated sequel 'Despicable Me 2' have given us a lot of minions, but not much to go on in the way of plot. We knew of course that Gru (Steve Carell) would be returning with his trio of adopted daughters, but what would be the premise this time around? The…

New Poster For 'The Incredible Burt Wonderstone'

Still not completely sure how I feel about Don Scardino's 'The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.' On the one hand, I like the concept of rival magicians as the basis for a comedy, because magic is a ridiculous thing about which to become super competitive. However, the first trailer for the movie, which stars …

First Trailer For 'The Incredible Burt Wonderstone'

When that first image from 'The Incredible Burt Wonderstone' hit the web, I didn't know much about the film. And yet when I saw that luxurious flowing mullet atop Steve Carell's head, it was clear there was something truly special here. Today the first trailer for the movie has arrived and...it's a bit of a mixed…

First Look At Steve Carell & Steve Buscemi In 'The Incredible Burt Wonderstone'

The word "magical" does not begin to describe these first glimpses from Don Scardino's 'The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.' The movie centers on a magician duo (Steve Carell and…

Hope Springs Review

There are only two words that can completely describe Hope Springs: adorable and melancholy. Those who know me well, know I'm a romantic-comedy loving bastard, that will watch anything and everything. Why, you ask me? Because of Hope Springs. Because films like these are released and…

Warner Bros Releases 'Crazy Stupid Love' Trailer

Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for the rom-dramedy 'Crazy, Stupid, Love'. The film stars Steve Carell - in essentially the exact same role that he always plays - as a man who has had his heart broken by the shocking discovery that his wife (played by Julianne Moore) has had an… Continue

Despicable Me: Deliciously Evil

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/e5/Despicable_me_1.jpg

From the very beginning, this animated feature had a lot of things going against its success, which was quite depressing to me actually. For one thing, the film was a non-Pixar/non-Dreamworks animated film

set to compete against both Toy Story 3 and Shrek Forever After.

Talk about horrible timing. For another thing, the film was attempting

to establish a supervillain as not only…

Dinner for Schmucks Review

Hey fellow Spill members! Before I start my review I would just like to say that I've never written a review for Spill. Therefore, please don't hate too hard; however, it would be great if you guys could give me some constructive criticism to aid me in my future reviews. I hope to do some more, and I thought I'd share my opinion on this movie since I saw a premiere screening of it yesterday. Without further ado, here's my review of Dinner for…

The Office: Has It Run Its Course?

The year was 2005, and a show entitled The Office premiered in late March, a comedy series that many criticized as a carbon copy of an earlier and highly successful show from the U.K. that sported

similar characters, similar story-lines, and even the same name. As

expected by some, the show premiered with mixed critical reception and

was even considered being pulled off the air, but the ratings were

enough to allow for a…

Dan in Real Life: An intelligent comedy with a conscience

Dan in Real Life, latest comedy from actor Steve Carell. It is a pretty decent movie, it works fro both sides, men and women because it has comedy, romance and also a little bit of drama. Perhaps its more a chick flick because of all the topics involving the film. It is funny were it has to be funny. The story is good, the plot about advice columnist Dan Burns is an expert on relationships, but somehow struggles to succeed as a brother, a son and a single parent but maybe a little corny for my… Continue

Get Smart: Turn your brain off and enjoy

It was funny and it has very good action and adventure. The adaptation from the 60's T.V. show is very good in my opinion, they made a nice transition to the modern era. The plot is predictable yet convincing. Maxwell Smart (Steve Carell) is on a mission to thwart the latest plot for world domination by the evil crime syndicate known as KAOS when Control is attacked and the identities of its agents compromised, Smart is partnered with the lovely-but-lethal veteran Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway). The… Continue

Get Smart Review

Get Smart starring Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway, and The Rock. This movie was pretty good. Steve plays Maxwell Smart. A determined yet cluless agent. This movie isn't the funniest thing I've seen all year, but you are bound to get one good laugh on this movie. Like Korey said, you will get a few chuckles. But I got a lot of chuckles. That's is fine but that is the problem with this movie. You get chuckles but you won't get a huge lol moment in this… Continue
