The Switch- A Typical Romantic Comedy

This movie is a good romantic comedy. Nowhere near (500) Days of Summer, but it's still up there. I thought that this movie had some strong strengths, but also some weaknesses.

The story of this movie is that this woman, played by…

Reviews by Niall:Up in the Air Edition

Up in the air is a sassy, funny cheeky grown up romantic comedy but please dont let those words put you off seeing this film. It not like most other romantic comedies it dosnt have the same predictable formula (the first meeting, getting to know eachother, the break up and eventual shining happy ending. No this movie is very funny and hilarious at points the smart ass back and forth between the characters is fantastic not one bit shy. George Clooney is as usual on great form and charming Vera… Continue

Extract review

Written review by: Leon

Once again, as with ‘Office Space’, ‘King of the Hill’ and even ‘Idiocracy’, Mike Judge does that thing that he does best: brings to life those oddball characters we universally suffer through our daily lives. Every one of them would make you say “I know somebody just like that guy”. And in the same way that ‘Election’ is a “quasi-but not really” sequel to ‘Ferris Beuller’s Day Off’, EXTRACT is a… Continue

Movie Review - Extract

Let me preface this by saying: I didn't really like Office Space.

Now, don't get me wrong, it had its great moments (John C Mcginley stole every scene he was in) But overall the sparse moments of comedic genius were hidden in a plot I felt would have fit better in a 30 minute TV episode.

This seems to be the theme with Mike Judges work, he has very original and creative ways to stick characters in awkward moments that are truly hilarious in his condensed TV… Continue

Bateman Defends Cera on AD Movie

Photobucket

Jason Bateman has some news for Arrested Development fans who are pointing the finger at Michael Cera and claiming he doesn't want to do take part in a movie about the adored-but-short-lived series.

Cera was quoted saying something to the effect of, when you can watch the show on DVD, why do you need to see a movie?

"Well, I think… Continue

My review of American Psycho

After a string of negative reviews so far, I finally managed to watch a movie yesterday that deserves a positive review.

American Psycho, starring Christian Bale, directed by Mary Harron, based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis is now on my top 10 list. Deliciously filled with the type of humour that would make a normal person puke their guts out, American Psycho is definitely something for the twisted movie-goers who find humour in even the most raunchy and disturbing subjects (such… Continue

Hancock: Enjoyable and entertaining, definitely worthy

Hancock is a very entertaining movie. It has action and adventure, comedy and even drama. Hancock is a different type of hero because he doesn't feel the necessity of helping people. He is kinda lazy, he drinks , he likes women he swears and has a lot of bad temper. The story is pretty good and the plot about A hard-living superhero (Smith) who has fallen out of favor with the public enters into a questionable relationship with the wife (Theron) of the public relations professional (Bateman)… Continue

Hancock Review

Hancock is the story about a drunk foul-mouthed homeless superhero who after saving a publicist (Jason Bateman) is reshaped into a legit superhero. The only person who objects to this is his wife (Charlize Theron) for at time unknown reasons. After breaking a bank robbery/hostage situation the leader of it, after being arrested he gathers two other prisoners to form a team and defeat Hancock. One night Hancock and Bateman's wife are taling and as they… Continue
