December 2009, a much simpler time. Exictment was building for future films such as "Avatar", "Sherlock Holmes" and of course "Alvin and The Chimpmunks, the squeakeul". Little did the world know that they were about to be introduced to the most rambuctious family to ever hit television since the Cosbys. Season one of the shore introduced us to a great cast of characters. Body freak the situation, spikey haired Pauly, Tig Bitties Jwoww, Sammi Sweatheart, family man Vinny Big Ron and lil Snookie.… Continue

My younger brother and i discussed this subject and came to the conclusion that Jake basically doomed the human race. The metal that was their whole reason for being on Pandora was Food the metal was like a super fertilizer. Since the largest deposit was under the largest tree on that planet.
And why would a corporation and government get involved and are willing to go through the trouble of creating these Avatars if it wasn’t important along with how desperate…
In the first episode of The Geek and Nerd Show, we'll give a shout-out to my inspiration for this podcast, Spill.com, talk about the awesomeness that is Inception, Archie's new gay friend Kevin Keller, whether or not Jughead is the original gay Archie Comics character, the new Scooby-Doo…
Early news trickling from Comic-Con this year [I can't go :( ]:
First off, fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender were jaded to hell by the unfortunate train wreck that was M. Night Shyamalan's last movie. But it seems Nickelodeon and the original creators knew this would be so when they saw test footage. Knowing they can't let a beloved series have their name tarnished forever, the creators are giving fans the best gift they could have hoped for: a brand-spanking new…
Having read the reviews of this film ahead of time, I knew that I needed to physically and mental prepare before I saw M. Night Shyamalan’s newest cinematic massacre called The Last Airbender. So before going to see the film, I planned out an amazingly fun outing,
complete with a delicious cup of frozen yogurt and the purchase of one
of my favorite films Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, which
was on sale…
With THE LAST AIRBENDER movie doing so poorly, I thought that I'd look at the acclaimed TV Show too see what the fuss was about. I watched a few episodes of AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER at a friends house, and enjoyed it enough that I thought I might buy the first box set. I went to my local big box store, and found it for just under $60. Meh, I liked it, but lack of funds kept me from buying the set at full price. Plus with the new HST tax that was just… Continue

My kids kept telling me about this show Avatar: The Last Airbender. When I first saw it, I could not help but think of bad anime from the 90's. Then I actually listened and watch the show. I was amazed of how I fell in love with all of the characters and the story. So, when the announcement of the live action version was coming. I was giddy as a little girl getting a pony on Christmas.
When the movie started it was nice to see that they kept the opening sequence from the…
OK now i just got "James Cameron's Avatar" last night on blu-ray plus dvd at my local Wal-Mart for 22.00$ I got home put all the food away, cause that what I went for in the first place but whatever that not I'm writing about.
I put the blu-ray in my PS3, got a glass of sweet tea and watched it, now right off the bat no extras which bummed me out.. It would had been nice to have some deleted scenes or some behind the scenes stuff but no just subtext for the hard… Continue
Hi there everyone! This is my first post on this site and I really enjoy reading your topics, reactions and analysis on any subject related to cinema, my favorite visual art! So, here I come!
So... Like a lot of you already saw on the news here every week, 3D is back in town with a sucker punch. Or should I say, was always there before but suddenly explodes on every screen. Since James Cameron broke every record possible with his beloved Avatar, Hollywood gets excited all around and… Continue

To anyone who criticizes Avatar for its clichéd story and comments of style over substance.
Also I do not criticize people who simply did not like the story of Avatar, just those who make grandiose claims about the nature of its content. To say you just did not like the story of avatar I will respect, to say you don’t like it because it was a sophomoric, bad sci fi retread of
I think this year's Academy Award Nominations for Best Picture has had a wonderful selection, but unfortunately not everyone agrees with the choices. Some complained that Avatar was unoriginal, Inglorious Basterds too talky, and so on and so forth. Most spill members downright hated some of the selections on the list. Well I think the proper solution to this would to combine the nominations together and you not only get better selections but better films as well. Check this… Continue
Let me being by saying that I don't think that everyone should like this movie. I know we all have our opinions, and it's all right to have them, but most of the negative criticism I hear from people about this movie is really annoying me. The complaints I'm hearing are about as unoriginal as they're claiming the movie to be. That complaint being "Avatar is just Dances With Wolves with blue people." Now how did you come up with that? Did you see Avatar and think, "This seems a lot like…
The Golden Globes,The BAFTA's or any awards don't quiet do it for anyone until the American Academy Awards come around. So,who will it be, will James Cameron's boys in blue steal the show or will his ex-wife's more realistic war film carry on it's success from the BAFTA's?Here are my predictions.…
Fans of comics, movies and literature can all identify with the "Bitter rivals" enemies whose battle will stretch into eternity: Ahab vs Moby Dick, Batman and the Joker, Mario and Bowser. But now a new conflict is beginning, one that has already consumed the IMDb forums.
Backround: As we all know, James Cameron's Avatar is the most successful movie of all time,… Continue
