Elysium, the rebirth of the intellectual spectacle science fiction? New Trailer embedded.

The trailer for Elysium is out and I can't contain my excitement.  I haven't felt like this about a movie trailer since I saw the first trailer for the first Lord of The Rings movie, back when the idea of a LOTR franchise on the silver screen was nothing but a dream to the readers.

I will try to explain the reason for my excitement, but It is hard to put into words that are meaningful to others. For example, the trailer shows a world that I want to see, the few images on this…

Avatar: The Legend of Korra review - Book One, Episode 9 (Out of the Past)

The series continues to progress, the past continues to merge into the present situations, and Sunday afternoons are now one of the highlights of the week for me. Yes indeed, it's worth repeating each review just how great "The Legend of Korra" has turned out to be, and with this episode bringing some very interesting resolutions to light, it…

Smallville - All Caught Up

Hello Hello, guess who? Anyways I think I should give a little background to all of this if I expect any of you to watch my videos. First of all I didn't become aware of the show Smallville until maybe season 5 as all my friends kept telling me I should start watching because they thought I would like it. But of course the pessimistic side…

Mortal Kombat 9 Spill.com Ustream Gameplay

These are all the matches I was in seeing that you can't spectate other peoples games unless you are in King of The Hill Mode.

That first fight is Professor Jeff and so is the rematch and the two after that are Korey.  Okay so it looks like every fight was actually Korey besides the last one.  Also I am Johnny Cage in every battle.…

What Do Yall Think About Internet Explorer 9

What are you, the spillios', thoughts on Internet Explorer 9. I love the fact that there is the new cleaner look to it, and you still have the ability to do a billion of the office, email, and toolbar apps. I Hate it because it is still slow as crap and I have too little seconds in my life to wait for each and every page to load. I have to use the other…

The A-Team (2010) or Blow Up Everything In Sight

Basically it’s like the show, with steroids.

This updated feature-film take on the hit 1980s television show follows a group of Iraq War veterans on the run from U.S. military forces while they try to clear their names after being framed for a

crime they didn’t commit. Along the way, Col. Hannibal Smith, Capt.

H.M. “Howling Mad” Murdock , Sgt. Bosco “B.A.” Baracus and…

Could It Be Considered Doomsday Soon for Superman Fans?

As many of you know already, last year (or earlier this year, I'm not entirely sure) the estates of creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster claimed back the rights to Superman's origin, so Warner Bros./DC can never make a comic, TV show, or movie about Superman's origin again (unless maybe without their approval). Well, it seems like we may never see another Superman movie entirely which puts Christopher Nolan and Co.'s…

Are We Seeing the Death of Originality in Hollywood Movies?

All right, I've wanted to do this blog for a very, very long time. It's a question that ponders the mind of every movie fanatic on the Internet especially the ones on sites like Ain't It Cool News, Cinematical, CHUD, and Spill Movie Reviews. Are we seeing the slow death of originality in film? Well, I'm going to try and guess the answer as best as I can.

I would say that we are not really experiencing a "death" of originality, it's more or less a period where movie studios are being… Continue

District 9 Sequel

Source: Empire

It's what many of us hoped and prayed for (but cautious for), and Sharlto Copley in an interview with Empire told them that not only he was interested in returning as Wilkus, but Neil Blomkamp was as well. Granted he had no idea where the sequel would go:

"Neil wants it and I want it. Neil's doing another film first. Then I think if everything goes according to…

Define "So Bad It's Good"

I recently watched "Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans" and didn't like it. This surprised me, considering that everyone was praising the film for its intentional badness and its status as the next big "so bad, it's good" movie. To me, the movie only had a few glorious moments of hilarious failings and those were few and far between. I racked my brain trying to realize why…

Alternative Films that could've have been Nominated for Best Picture Academy Awards (A Mashup parody blog)

I think this year's Academy Award Nominations for Best Picture has had a wonderful selection, but unfortunately not everyone agrees with the choices. Some complained that Avatar was unoriginal, Inglorious Basterds too talky, and so on and so forth. Most spill members downright hated some of the selections on the list. Well I think the proper solution to this would to combine the nominations together and you not only get better selections but better films as well. Check this… Continue

Trailer Trash

I've never been an eloquent writer who can create a string of coherent thoughts effectively. I just thought that I'd put that out there first to give you a bit of a warning when you come onto this blog. As for the main topic, I'm still going to be covering old territory here, but at this point what isn't.

A lot of the extended trailers these days have a major problem. They tend to ruin so much of the movie it almost isn't worth it anymore. Part of the appeal of a movie, to…

Oscar Prep: Avatar vs. Inglourious Basterds

Now the buzz I've heard in discussions regarding Oscar nominations, specifically Best Motion Picture, the two that seem neck-in-neck are Avatar and Inglourious Basterds. The reason is that Inglourious Basterds recieved Best Ensemble in the SAG Awards (whose sole purpose has become Oscar predictions) while Avatar got best film. Last year, the winner, Slumdog Millionaire, received ensemble instead of film and went on to get the Oscar for best film. Outside of that, typically SAG Award for best… Continue
