Avatar: The Legend of Korra review - Book One, Episode 8 (When Extremes Meet)

Korra returns after its... unusual week off from the TV screens. (seriously, for that holiday??) But in that time, I took the chance to re-watch the entire Legend of Aang show, hoping that it'll keep me up to track with the continuity and, understand the episodes for reviewing better. Time to test the metal of the theory now.

In the aftermath…

My Best and Worst (2011) Part 1 (WORST)

Hello again, ladies and gentlemen. I am Chaos Jumper and I do stuff because I want to! Today, I will actually have the time out of my day to work on my best movies of 2011 as well as patching a little bit of my list of worst of films. I was able to watch a few more films in my local theater and renting a few on DVD so that I could just watch more films that are good, bad and in-between. And before you ask, yes I know how long these are for best/worst of. There is a reason; many of these…

The Top 10 Movies I Saw in 2011

DISCLAIMER: I would like to say that due to my unfortunate location and inability to see so many of the other big movies that came out this year due to time or place, these are the movies that I've seen this year and that I've enjoyed the most and were released this year.

10. Super 8. Despite the ending being a bit of a whimper, I must admit that this movie was such a great thrill ride of a mystery that pays a beautiful tribute to the classic Spielberg films…

My Little Pony: FIM review - Season 2, Episode 8 (The Mysterious Mare Do Well)

It is expected, with any TV show you watch on a regular basis and follow with a clinical level of attention, it's only a matter of time before you come across one that... isn't bad, but slips slightly below your expected standards. It's not a bad reflection of the show, just an indicator that you are on the other side of the swing, so to speak.

This was how…

In Time Review

The Robin Hood story meeting Bonnie & Clyde meeting The Fugitive meeting classic '70s sci-fi noir is a lot better than how it sounds. This movie is actually better than some people are saying because the script and story is solid and it has a lot of really good ideas. The problem with this film is the directing and the editing because it's longer than it should be and the pacing isn't awful but it definitely could've picked it up in order to keep the suspense going for…

Super 8 movie review - nkWhiteStar

Another cinematic release here in Ireland that takes place many weeks after the U.S. release, so once again, my apologies if this is old news for some.  I'll try to give this some new viewpoints, of which there is at least one interesting point at the end.

This is J.J. Abrams nod of significance to Steven Spielberg, and his iconic movies of the…

MOVIE REVIEW - SUPER 8 (NO SPOILERS)

Review:

Watching this movie (as a 90s kid) I had a blast from the past just by watching this movie. It felt like those old 70s era Sci-Fi Spielberg movies that i watched when i was a kid. It almost felt like The Goonies, E.T. and Cloverfield but Spielberg didn't direct this. J.J. Abrams did who gave us Cloverfield and Star Trek (2009) and he does great at his type of marketing when it comes to the…

Super 8 and why every true movie goer should see it.

So i recently saw a film by the name of Super 8 directed by J.J Abrams and produced by Steven Spielberg. I must point out Spielberg's involvement right off the bat because off the nostalgia factor on screen half the time. This is a standard monster film with oscar worthy elements. The train crash blew my mind and i actually clapped. It is my favorite crash scene in a movie next to the reacurring car crash in Amores Perros. Michael Giacchino's wonderful score, if you dont remember him, he was… Continue

The After Lobby: Super 8 Spoiler-Free Review!

Like some film goers, I thought Super 8 was going to be another superhero film. Well, it's certainly a terrible superhero film (because it totally isn't). Instead, it's a film that feeds off the nostalgia of well-known movies. Many films that claim to be paying homage to these earlier classics tend to just copy what made the originals so great with nothing new to add. But every now…
