The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Review

Many people feared that this movie would be the equivalent of The Phantom Menace but for the younger generation of fans who grew up with The Lord of the Rings as their epic saga of nostalgia. While this film doesn't descend into such excruciatingly painful territory, the attempts at entertaining the children…

Life of Pi Review

The biggest part of the magic of movies is its ability to transport us wherever it wants us to go as we willingly give up a couple of hours of our life to see worlds that none have experienced or seen before. 3-D is commonly used nowadays as a way to grab the audience and say that they can be that much closer to the…

The Avengers Review

When the Avengers truly assembled for the first time in San Diego two summers ago, Robert Downey, Jr. boldly stated that this film was "the most ambitious movie [he's] ever seen", even over the phenomenon that was Christopher Nolan's Inception. It has taken four years to develop the main…

Titanic 3D Review

What is arguably the most iconic Hollywood film of the modern era is back once again to rake in more money. But what is it that has made this film so massive in its impact? It's a movie about an event that almost no one living today ever experienced, it's a James Cameron film without nuclear weapons, Terminators,…

Would you pay for 3-D glasses?

Source: Los Angeles Times

What should be paid to see a 3D movie?  Traditionally, theater-goers have paid about $3 more to see a movie in 3-D, on top of already high ticket prices.  However, would you still go see a 3-D movie if you had to pay for the glasses too?

According to the Los Angeles Times, there exists a rift between movie studios and the theater…

Transformers 3: My Review

Transformers: Dark of the Moon:

My Opinion

After my third viewing of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, I'm pretty sure, I have a good idea of what I think of it, So a bit late, I'll go into it....First and foremost, I'll be the first to admit that I love the transformers. I am not old enough to have enjoyed Generation 1(the 80's TV show) but I did grow up with Beast Wars, the next television series to debut in America. I later got the season 1 Box set, so I did watch it, but…

Yes I'm Back...'Saw 3D' Trailer Released

Yes Spillios...I'm Back

I know you're probably wondering "Who the hell is this guy writing this post?!"

I've had a major absence from the world of Spill, mainly due to me switching to full-time at my job and trying to get things set with school. I still come for the reviews, but haven't participated in the community as much. To be honest, I do miss things here,… Continue

In Eye Popping 3-D....what?

With the onslaught of new 3-D movies coming out I have heard this phrase a million times, "In eye popping 3-D". The only problem I have with the phrase is that it makes no sense! My eyes will not pop out of my head from watching Alice in Wonderlands poor use of 3-D or Clash of the Titans. Even with How to Train Your Dragons excellent use of 3-D my eyes still stayed in. So why do some many trailers and posters have to use this phrase?

Just because a 2-D action movie is…

SkellingJack's Alice in Wonderland review

Now when it comes to directors, one of my favorite directors out there is Tim Burton. Now before all of you Tim Burtons haters start criticizing me, I will say that Tim Burton isn't the best director out there. However I have really enjoyed a ton of the films he has made in the past. While not all of them were great, there were more that I enjoyed than disliked, and Alice in Wonderland is definately in the category of a film I liked from Tim…

Final Destination 3-D review

The horror genre seems to be really dull these days. It was tough to decide which movie I was going to see tonight: Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN sequel or the latest installment in the FINAL DESTINATION series. I watched both of the trailers and HALLOWEEN 2 seemed like it would be really boring. FINAL DESTINATION didn't look impressive either but I was sold on the 3-D and was ready to watch over-the-top death scenes in Digital 3-D at a sold out theater with a crowd that just wanted to have a good… Continue
