If it's crap ... We'll tell you
The poster says it all really, a documentary of a Formula 1 driver which has, agaimst all the odds, managed to touch the hearts of critics and win audiences around the world. The fact that this documentary ever even got a green light is enough to illustrate just what an influence this man was. To most, he was a racing driver, but to those…Continue

Por: William Nutt
This is the first in a series of blog posts in which I will review what are in my opinion the best films 2000-2010. Please note these are in no particular order.
People laughed when they heard there was a movie about Facebook in the works. "What's next?" they would scoff, "a movie about Monopoly?" How ironic then that the same film buffs who mocked Hollywood's willingness to latch on to the latest…Continue

From director Danny Boyle comes this harrowing tale of real-life mountain climber Aron Ralston (James Franco), who literally cuts himself loose from danger — and lives to tell about it when sliding rock pins his forearm under a boulder during a climb in Utah. To stay alive, Ralston resorts to his basest survival instincts.

This is my first blog post, so I don't really know what I'm doing here, and no one is going to want to read this anyway...but oh, well. In this post, I'm going to give my opinion on all the films I watched in 2010 – I know, we’re nearing March, and it’s kind of too late to make an ‘Films of 2010’ list now. Note: I have said 'give my opinion', so if you do read this, please don't have a long rant about how you disagree with me, and criticise my reasons for my opinions. Thanks…Continue

The patrons of Spill.com should have expected something like this. We all watch movies, TV shows, and listen to music so it's natural for us to have a "Best Of" or "Worst Of." But what about the one piece of entertainment that makes us different from the others and bond like a community? That's right, Spill.com deserves it's own Best Of list for their wonderful podcasts. For ACOCO, I'm a bit biased with which ones I enjoy the most, and for LEOG it's really, REALLY hard for me to choose ones…Continue
It’s that time of year again. The closing of January. It’s when I put up my ‘best of’ list. I give myself an additional month to play catch up, as a lot of the better movies are released at the tail end of the year.
I have seen 132 movies released in the year 2010, and I can honestly say that there weren’t a whole lot of surprises pulled this year. Most of what I was excited for turned out to be my favorites of the year, and the rest fell where they…Continue

It's that time of the year when award shows bombard the screens of televisions worldwide, we make fun of them, we criticize their stupidity in nominees, and presentation, and we blog, and discuss the ones we all wanted to win, but the one that really matters when it comes to film is the Academy Awards. A few days ago the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences released their nominations for the best of film in the year…Continue
After such a long time of waiting for me, the nominations for the Oscars are here once again! So, let's not dance around the lilies, let's get down to business when it comes to my thoughts on the major categories!
After a year of hearing about this film, I finally have witnessed what everybody was talking about since last year at Sundance! Now, the question is, is worth all of the hype and the praise that it's getting?
I think everybody knows the gist of the plot by now. Ryan Reynolds buried in a coffin for 90…Continue

I have come up with the ten films that will most likely be nominated for Best Picture. Now these aren't the films I think are the best but the films I think have the highest chance of being nominated. In no particular order, here they are:

I've now been writing movie reviews and doing these "top/bottom" movies of the year for about 3 years now. Out of those 3 years this one is by far the hardest to chose just 10 movies to put as my favorite. This year has had so many great films and some pretty nice surprises. This is the first time I've had to decide between 5 movies in the first 3 months to put in my top 10. Usually that quarter of the year is battling for worst films. There…
