I consider this summerto be a summerof ups and downs. For most people downs, but there were good and great films this year. It seems the big budget overly hyped films were the let downs. This list is to reconize the best of this summer.

Last weekend proved to be something of a dissapointment at the box office, with Judd Apatow's lastest flick, Funny People, proving to be underwhelming with both critics and audiences, grossing $22.6 million, far below Apatow's previous flick, Knocked Up, intake of 30 million a few years back. The whole weekend proved to be just as underwhelming, with the total box office intake decreasing 18% from last week. Hopefully, this weekend will prove to change the dry spill with the latest summer blockb… Continue

So the church are up in smoke, you have a movie where obi wan kenobi is helicopter-flying, call-in pope fighting Jesus, too be honest on writing the film wouldn't be a bad idea, but instead you have a religous dark knight.

It's all crap. Most of it. Most of what you believe. If I was to go back and talk to the me of 20 years ago (hell, the me of ten years ago) and find out all the stupid shit I believed was true, I'd have to beat my own ass. Sometimes we believe things because our parents… Continue

I have to say I love the summer; it's a great time for movie. The most enjoyable, big budget, kick-ass movies come out in the summer. And with summer a couple days away (at least that’s what X-Men say) I thought I show the movies I'm looking forward to the most.
Honorable Mention
G.I. Joe(The Real Amarican Hero) The Rise of Cobra

The team behind the global phenomenon The Da Vinci Code returns for the highly anticipated Angels & Demons, based upon the bestselling novel by Dan Brown. Tom Hanks reprises his role as Harvard religious expert Robert Langdon, who once again finds that forces with ancient roots are willing to stop at nothing, even murder, to advance their goals. 2008 was probably one of the best years of movies during my lifetime. We witnessed the rise of the superhero, the continuing success of Apatow & the return of such titans as Rourke, Jones and Downey Jr. This lead me to realize that, while making my worst of the year list, that not all of them were that bad to me. Mind you, I haven't seen what I've heard are the shittiest (Disaster Movie, Meet the Spartans, Mummy 3, 10,000 BC, Love Guru, etc.). Thus, the lower half of the list m… Continue

Michel Moore's only TRUE fictional film is just...not good. Not at all.
The movie's about how after The Cold War America needs a war to bring in the money and the votes so they start a war with Canada. It's a great concept that was done 1,000,000x better a few years later in Wag The Dog. This is just bland to the point of annoyance. T… Continue
