13 Wrestlers Who Bodyslammed Their Way Into Acting

When I heard Nicolas Cage was originally supposed to play the part of Randy “The Ram” Robinson in The Wrestler, I wasn’t thrilled. It was as bad, if not worse, than hearing he was to play Superman. However, when Darren Aronofsky finally put his foot down and told Cage that he wanted Mickey… Continue

FULL FUCKING PRICE!! Gran Torino

Now I am no movie reviewer but this movie inspired me to write about it. Clint Eastwood has played many memorable characters in his life time And I would say this will go down as one of his memorable. I really felt this was the mix of what would be my two favorite characters from his early days His charismatic day when he played his unknown name in Movies like The Good The bad and the ugly and his roughneck yet loveable Dirty Harry. This movie brings a since of real life something I would… Continue

Tim Robbins To Play Howard Stark In 'Iron Man 2'?

Source: slashfilm.com

Well it looks like Terrance Howard isn’t that only Iron Man actor getting the shaft in the Marvel Studios sequel. Latino Review reports a rumor that Gerard Sanders, who played Tony Stark’s father Howard in a montage will not return for Iron Man 2. Instead, Howard Stark will be played by Tim Robbins. Apparently there is a pretty important flashback sequence that among other things, helps set up The Avengers and Captain America films, and director Jon Favreau… Continue

Keanu can act!!

Ok, so I just got back from watching the infamous "The Day The Earth Stood Still" and I have to say - I really enjoyed it! Now I've heard and read negative review after negative review about this movie - more so for Keanu Reeves' character. Im not going to talk about the movie itself, I dont even know/care about the 1950's movie, or how this one doesn't live up to the original....blah blah blah. You've read and heard about that. What I will ask is....

Why the hell is the whole… Continue

Movies that have made me cry (or at least tear up a little bit)

These aren't necessarily really sad movies, they just have parts of them that made me cry. And keep in mind that I cried at many when I was a kid, but not anymore. Just putting that one out there to avoid embarrassment on my behalf.

While obviously not the greatest movie of all time, and certainly not the best sequel either, this was still one of my favorite movies as a kid. And the ending always made me tear up, where the poodle that… Continue

The First 22 Minutes Of Watchmen Shown At Butt-Numb-A-Thon!

Source: Devin Faraci, CHUD

At this point I've seen about 45 or 50 minutes of Watchmen; I kind of wish I'd just get a chance to see the whole thing already, because viewing it piecemeal like this is giving me a Jon Osterman colored set of balls. The latest chunk of footage I saw was at Butt-Numb-A-Thon this weekend; while some people were bummed that the full film didn't play I understood the reasoning behind the scenes (even though I think showing an unfinished cut to that crowd… Continue

Why Do We Need Another 'Halloween' Film?

'H2' Is Being Made...F#%&!!!

As most of us now know, Dimension Films and Rob Zombie are tackling a sequel to the 2007 horror remake Halloween. It seems as if they are confident enough to bring out Mike Myers for another killing rampage. Hollywood loves bringing iconic horror figures back for another run, even though they had enough camera time during the 1970's and 1980's. Also, it always seems to be the same concept: idiotic charecters who are brutally… Continue

Wolverine: Origins trailer thoughts

The Wolverine Origins trailer is out

I liked it

Overall it's what one should expect for a Wolverine origin movie. The Weapon X program looks about right

the tank we've seen from the X-Men movies is fine, sure I liked Tyler Mane as Sabretooth, but Liev does a decent job.

As far as adding all the extra characters, I'm sure most of them are going to come and go, but I don't mind it. At least we get to see big screen adaptions of some who would otherwise, not… Continue

Top 10 Christmas Specials

Well, it's the most wonderful time of the year yet again. The great thing about Christmastime is that everyone celebrates the holiday in their own way. Some people roast chestnuts. Others bake Christmas cookies. Me? I watch TV. Yep, nothing quite puts me in the holiday spirit like watching some of my old favorite Christmas specials. So, this year, I thought I'd share some of my favorites with all of you.

Most of the shows on the list are considered classics. I have included a few more… Continue

Fun & Random Movie Facts

Here are just some fun movie facts that I thought would amuse some people.

The Longest Film Ever Made

The longest film ever made according to Yahoo.com is The Burning of the Red Lotus Temple, which clocks in at 27 hours long. The film was never shown in its entirety due to its length. Instead it was split into 18 features that were shown from 1928 through 1931. Even though the film was split, it was produced as one major film as a whole. I wonder if anyone… Continue

Pinup Queen Bettie Page Dead At 85

Source: E! Online

Although her body was mortal, Bettie Page's image is forever young and feisty.

The 1950s-era model, whose saucy poses for publications like Beauty Parade, Twitter and an upstart rag called Playboy won her a legion of fans and a cult following long after her pinup days were over, died Thursday night at a Los Angeles hospital, nine days after suffering a heart attack. She was 85.

According to her agent, Page had been hospitalized for three weeks… Continue

What Makes A Good Film? -- Analysis of the Award Season

Award season is just around the corner, and I'm asking myself the same question I asked myself last year: What makes a good film?

Is it the acting, the direction, the design, or the replay value? There are so many factors that can make a good movie that I wouldn't know where to start. What do these big time critics at these award shows consider when they cast in their ballots for nominations? What are they looking for when they want to give out those shiny golden… Continue

Golden Globes Don't Shine on Dark Knight

Los Angeles (E! Online) – Batman, meet your new foe: The Hollywood Foreign Press.

The Dark Knight, which had been picking all the right endorsements in the run-up to the Oscars, failed to win over Golden Globe voters, earning just one nomination.

Or, as many as Pineapple Express. (More on that surprise contender in a bit.)

As expected, The Dark Knight's Heath Ledger was nominated posthumously in the supporting actor category… Continue

A RACIST WHITE WOMAN BECOMES BLACK - Review of Agathe Cléry, a new (offensive?) French comedy

Hi, beloved Spill community,

Fresh from the land of frog-eaters comes Agathe Cléry, a new musical comedy with an...interesting concept.

"She is white

She is racist

She's going to turn black!"

The plot

Directed by Eric Chatiliez, a man who's been acclaimed numerous times in France for his satirical and acid comedies, the movie tells the story of Agathe Cléry, a 40 something marketing… Continue
