The Underrated Films of '08

As the new year approaches, a lot of us movie buffs have taken the opportunity to reflect on how awesome some of the movies this year has been, as well as the flicks that we wished we didn't pay a single cent for. I can honestly say that the past year epic movies like Dark Knight, Wall.E and Iron Man overshadowed other awesome… Continue

Official poster for How To Be, Robert Pattinson's latest (earliest?) movie.

Well, it's been a long time comin'. I was interested in this movie before I even heard of Twilight so it seems as though centuries have past since I last heard any news about this movie. You can learn more about the movie here.

Although Robert Pattinson has recently gathered his fame from Twilight, he worked on two other movies previous to the vamp adventure. How To Be and another film I am highly excited to see Little… Continue

New Years' Movies for Your Viewing Pleasure

In celebration of the New Year, I decided to highlight a few films I liked that are centered on the holiday. As far as films are concerned, the holiday is largely ignored. However, I am pleased to say that the ones that ARE available are fun to watch and some are even excellent films overall. Those listed below are in no particular order.

Peter's Friends

The film has long been referred to as the British… Continue

Ito Reviews The Spirit

This is my first written movie reveiw.

Well after a whole weekend of trying to find some what of a positive review of the movie, and failing, I walked to the box office nervous thinking that I was walking in to a piece of shit movie, and that I was gonna hate every minute of it. Well I walked into a movie theater with about 5 other people in there and the movie begins. And what did I think of it, I thought it was okay.

Yeah… Continue

Aaron's Official Best And Worst Movies Of 2008 Lists!

WELL, SORT OF...

You see, I was expected to do this list tomorrow night after seeing Marley & Me and The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button but that's looking like that's going to wait until Friday. I don't expect Marley & Me to be on the best movie list or the worst movie list but I do expect Benjamin Button to be seen in the best movies list somewhere.

Also, you will see that things have changed particularly in the worst movies category because there are 2 movies… Continue

Top 10 Most Disappointing movies of 2008

Top 10 Most Disappointing movies of 2008

Unfortunately this year has been a disappointing year for films. The previous top ten were the only movies that I liked this year. With this list, I’m looking into the movies that disappointed me. They are the films that were okay (the limbo between good and bad films). Unlike my previous list I’m not going to dive into the plot and the different characters. These are going to be smaller versions of my let’s go on a rant. I’m just going to… Continue

My top ten movies of 2008

Top 10 movies of 2008

I know the internet has been saturated lately with tons and tons of top 10 list like the top 10 best video games of 2008 or the top ten celebrity toupees of 2008 (By the way Burt Reynolds received the # 1 for Three years in a row. Congrats Burt). I believe that a top ten list is an easy way to round up a whole year of bland content into 10 good movies that came out of 2008. FYI: These are my opinion, I don’t cop out and name movies that I haven’t seen or base… Continue

Big 'American Pie' News

Photobucket

Here’s something interesting.

Universal has decided to abandon those direct-to-video “American Pie” spin-off films in favour of making a third sequel to the original film – one that might possibly pick up on the whereabouts of now-married Jim and Michelle (Jason Biggs and Alyson Hannigan). Like the other three, it’ll be released… Continue

Ragman Reviews "The Wrestler"

Ok let's get one thing straight right off the bat before I begin the review proper, I am a huge wrestling fan and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I freaking love pro-wrestling. So when I first heard about this movie I immediately thought of the horrors of past wrestling movies, most of them staring Hulk Hogan, and thought that no way this film could be good.

Then I heard that Mickey Rourke was going to play the lead. I started to become more interested in this movie as I followed the… Continue

Aaron's Reviews: The Spirit & Bedtime Stories

Let me tell you people out there something, I've sat through shitty films like Scooby Doo, Deuce Bigalow, The Love Guru, & Drillbit Taylor BUT tonight, for the first time ever in my 13 years of going to the movie theaters, I WALKED OUT OF A FUCKING MOVIE. What movie was it? What movie made me so mad that I walked out about 3/4 in? Why, it was...

THE SPIRIT

Oh my god, everything Carlyle mention in the review is true. The… Continue

Three Disappointing Films of 2008

Well, I already finished putting up my Top 10 List:

http://my.spill.com/profiles/blogs/my-top-ten-of-2008

After going through my top ten, I also began to reminisce on the disappointing films of 2008. Now, when I say disappointing I don't mean the worst movies of the year such as Disaster Movie, The Love Guru, and Meet The Spartans. I'm talking about the films I was hyped up to see, but when I got out the theater I left disappointed. Some of them were… Continue

How I Would Go About The Bioshock Movie *Spoilers*

As most know, a Bioshock movie is in the workings and the director to head it will be Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Ring) and the script will be written by John Logan (Gladiator, The Aviator, and Sweeny Todd).

That is a good start towards a good movie adaptation of this fantastic video game. I recently beat Bioshock for the third time on the PS3, so in this blog I wish to list and describe ways I would go about making this movie.…

Lets go on a rant: Prom night

This is my first time doing a blog so bare with me.

Remakes. What the hell? I don't understand what the movie industry is doing. Why take a piece of shit movie and remake into another piece of shit movie. Its like if I scooped up a pile of dog shit, put it in a sealed container, put in the freezer for a decade, reopened the container in a decade, and heat the contents in a microwave. Guess what happens you still get shit after a decade. What did the movie studios of these movies… Continue

what i believe needs to happen with superhero films, and what needs to be left alone

I am a huge comic book film fanatic, but i believe that several things have happened that need to be left alone. Here is the rundown of things that need to happen.

1. Leave Chris Nolan alone for a while, and batman in general: Now i love the Dark Knight, but i am sick of all these rumors i keep hearing. I believe that everyone needs to give Christopher Nolan a few years to relax, and to actually think about what he is going to do. There is rarely a good third film in a trilogy, and i… Continue

Valkyrie review

starring Tom Cruise as a retarded Nazi. In 1944 the last assassination attempt on Hitler was made. The movie follows the renegades plan to blow up Hitler, initiate operation Valkyrie, then seize Nazi Germany and make a truce with the allies( that's the USA, Great Britain and Russia for the idiots) I won't go too far into detail but the plot is enthralling enough for two hours but the middle act is the weakest. This is the movie you see with specific… Continue

Rant about the "Watchmen" film going to Fox

Well this is me getting my anger out about Fox getting the right to the "Watchmen" film. Enjoy!

Well 20th Century Fox got the right to the “Watchmen” movie from Warner Bros.

MOTHERFUCKER!!!</</b>b>

Fox is once again fucking up something else I LOVE! Fox kills good things in any way they can find. Whoever is running things at Fox is a dumbass. 20th Century Fox just got the rights from Warner Bros. to get the “Watchmen” movie. I am a comic book…

Amazon.co.uk Fucktard Theatre

Just a quick one today. Hope you all had a merry Christmas, happy Hanukah, bodacious Bodhi Day, stupendous Solstice, funky Festivus and a festive Festival of the birth of the Unconquered Sun and a happy new year to you all.

If there's one thing this festive time of year has taught me, it's that people are idiots. Well, I say taught me but I kinda knew that already, so let's just say it reinforced that opinion. Why? Well, I did most of my Christmas shopping online and, whilst just… Continue

Eartha "Catwoman" Kitt Dead at 81

According to The Associated Press: "A family friend says singer and actress Eartha Kitt has died of colon cancer at age 81."

While it's still early to have anything of substance to the news, I certainly would call it a loss not only for those who enjoyed her singing, but as Catwoman, as well. I have to admit that until today, I had never seen Eartha Kitt in a photo or on Batman and always… Continue
