District 9 REVIEW!

Oh man. None of you folks out there realize the surprise your in for when you check out Niell Blomkamp. When I first saw the trailer for this film, I thought "This is Peter Jackson and Niell Blomkamp's replacement for the HALO film falling apart." This is essentially what this is, but it is something that is in every sense different and stronger because of it. First off, Nobody is prepared for this film. This film completely wasn't what I was expecting… Continue

The big five needed to gain "Indie" status.

So boys and girls, let me tell you about a little thing called Sundance. What is there to tell though, you all probably know. But for those three who don't... Sundance is an international film festival which hosts movies lacking major distributors. Usually these filmes have been made with the change from under the sofa but alot of the times, this is where the best stuff is produced. This year, we got stuff like (500) Days of Summer, Black Dynamite and Spread. And now for all those aspiring film… Continue

Blade Runner (1982)

For this film being nearly 20 years old, you can tell that Ridley Scott put his blood sweat and tears into every single frame of this film as each shot just blows ya away, and on Blu-Ray… Continue

Underworld 4 Happening in 3-D

Unlike many people, I am a fan of the Underworld franchise. I have no idea why I enjoy them but it holds a place in my heart. However, after Rise of the Lycans, there was no more story tell.......At least i thought there was nothing else. Maybe its because the last movie made 91 million worldwide on a 35 million budget.

Shock Till You Drop confirmed that Screen Gems is moving forward on the 4th entry in the franchise and is planning to be… Continue

My excitement for Ponyo was killed because of Disney.

Despite my initial excitement upon reviewing the Japanese version of Ponyo, Disney has found a way to kill it for me.

I present, for your consideration, the original Japanese theme of the movie. Be warned, if you don’t like the singing of children, don’t bother listening to either of these tracks.

And now, here’s the English/Disney version that was released… Continue

According to IESB, legendary director and producer Steven Spielberg is in negotiations in adapting Halo: The Fall of Reach which comes from screenwriter Stuart Beattie. The Passion of Joan of Arc (Movie-DVD) Review

The Passion of Joan of Arc

Movie: **** Spill Rating: FULL PRICE!

DVD: ****

Overall:****

Movie:

I usually do not watch many films from the silent or early era of films. The only ones that I visit on a regular basis are Metropolis and Nosferatu. After watching this film, I finally know what I'm missing. Even thought the film may be considered archaic in many ways, this is a testament to the brilliance of… Continue

My Heros Have Always Been Cowboys...Spacemen....Or Clowns

Recently on LEOG, we've had a very spirited discussion on cartoon shows. A lot of ground got covered but mostly from the 1970's to now. I have to admit that the 1960's were a deluge of Hanna Barbara. But what I'd like to show all you hip kids out there are some of the show I used to watch as a kid outside the range of your average half hour cartoon show. These shows were locally produced with the exception of Captain Kangaroo and were hosted by adults playing characters. The last show I… Continue

Why We Should Give John Hughes More Appreciation...

Okay, normally I don't go out and write blogs concerning celebrities deaths (I didn't even write about Michael Jackson's), but once someone dies that has contributed a vast number of things that have entertained me, that's where I contribute something of my own to you people concerning them. (and before you jump your shit, I HAVE been entertained by Michael Jackson, but there's very few musicians that have impacted me in such a way than filmmakers have - like John Hughes - so I am not in any… Continue

The film is everything that makes a great saturday morrning cartoon, it makes you forget all your worries, and… Continue

G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra REVIEW!

If you're an boy growing up in America, there is not possible way you couldn't have had a G.I. Joe action figure at some point in your life. This was definitely the case for myself, and I still had fond memories of those figures...

However, G.I. Joe is something that is near to my heart, but the mythology is not religion to me. I appreciate what G.I. Joe is as a piece of american nostalgia. When hearing the news that Hasbro and Paramont were going… Continue
