Ms. Splosion Man review...
The people working at Twisted Pixel are a certain type of crazy. Not the ‘charging for an online pass’ crazy. Good crazy. The type of crazy you want when you throw a party. In an industry where big corporations, quite frankly, take themselves far too seriously, it’s nice to see a small indie company crafting hilarious games with so much heart. Sure, they've royally screwed up, like in the case of Comic Jumper, but it’s obvious that the developers want to make a wholly unique…

NCAA Football 12 Review
Remember those days in the science fair? If you repeated the same project the year before, you had to improve on it in some way. NCAA would not have received a ribbon this year.
Before you gird your loins from a ranting review, let me say I am strangely indifferent to NCAA 12. If you jump right in and play an exhibition game, your first thought may be, “ I think they…

Thumbs Up, Soldier!
I paid a visit to the movies today for the first time in a couple of weeks, and I knew exactly what I wanted to go see. I may have missed out last weekend, but I was bound and determined to check it out this time. Today, I went to go see Captain America: The First Avenger. The Paramount Pictures/Marvel Studios production - rated PG-13 - stars Chris Evans,… Continue

Take It to the Limit
This weekend has pretty much been a movie weekend for me. Be it at home or at the theaters, I was determined to watch as many movies as possible. With that in mind, yesterday was a Blu-ray kinda day for me. I watched Source Code on Friday, so watching that on back-to-back days was out of the question (you can read my review… Continue

Note: This review is a lot more spoiler-heavy than most of my reviews, but I felt it necessary in order to convey my feelings.
Art films can be good. I'm the last person I'd expect to hear that from, but after watching The Tree of Life I just need to reassure myself. Remember 2001: A Space Odyssey? Whether you love it or hate it you have to at least agree that it has a story and that even when it gets weird, at least it keeps the same general tone throughout. The Tree of Life has…

10 things i would want in a GRAND THEFT AUTO movie
Okay, so lets say one day they decided to make a GTA movie one day and, really why wouldn't they.
So if they did, these are the things i would personally like to see in a fun clusterfuck movie called Grand Theft Auto
10. Make it silly.
Okay this is very Important, because there is nothing serious about a game where you can go on a rampage in the middle of a city and the only thing keeping the military from blowing you the fuck up is entering a number into your…

I recently heard that Stanley Kubrick stretched out his film Barry Lyndon so long to the point were we would have to call it an epic or a masterpiece. Why do people think that the longer a film is it seems more brilliant? Well the more time you spend watching it the film grows on you. The 200 minute long JFK was a fantastic film in its own rights and like Lyndon it is one of the greatest examples of masterful filmmaking. But JFK was flawed and so was Lyndon. I dont think that the longer a…

I’m too lazy!!!
I’ve tried, I really have. Years of being the shy and boring black haired, brown eyed boy took their toll and awhile back I decided I wanted to be interesting. Having a natural tendency towards paranoid delusions seemed such a gift in light of that, but as the title of this post implies, I’m too lazy to make use of my talent.
Typical me; I don’t practice the harmonica or write much anymore. I’ll grudgingly admit that I have a few wee talents knocking about but I’m…

Captain America: The First Avenger movie review - nkWhiteStar
My apologies to my Spilleos and readers in the U.S. who have seen every single Captain America review possible over the past week, but this is one more to the list. Even though this is from the opening Irish weekend for the film (and in 2D) it will most likely be similar to what you've read before. But, judgeing from the…
