Back in 1982, my older brother and I went to a second run theater in our part of town that showed movies for a buck, and one week they screened Star Trek II :the Wrath of Khan. To this day it remains my favorite Trek film. We saw it opening weekend at a full price theater and loved it, and it hit the second run jernt about six months later.
We get there, and right as the movie starts, this fucking HUGE fat broad and her tiny little… Continue
Welcome back, Spillensteins, to another unfortunate yet necessary episode of Freeform Anger. Tonight’s feature, direct from the Home Office in the 10th level of Hades is 2006’s “Employee of the Month,” starring Dane Cook and Jessica Simpson. Mensa was sad to lose these two for a couple months while this flick was put together.
Mephisto sent me this movie because of my last FFA “Still Waiting….” He decided I had missed the joy of Dane Cooking. Now I used to like Dane… Continue
I thought that enough time has passed since my last review that I should include my new Action film of the week. However on this occasion I decided to drift away from American films to the international action cinema due to all the hubub of Luc Besson's latest film in the states TAKEN and look back on one of his earlier pieces of work.
You're not gonna believe this guys. I've played Resident Evil 5, and it's so damn good! Here's the details on what goes down in the game.
*Begin Spoilers*
Chris Redfield drives across the African savannah in his humvee towards Kijuju. Kijuju, an area of a “fictional” African country (it’s actually Nigeria) has been sealed off by the army after a massive surge in violence, rioting and the murder of foreign residents. Whilst the BSAA is not sure if it’s a BOW outbreak or…Continue
Yessir, that's anime style. It is not based off manga, no it is not. It is based off anime. Specifically, very cheap anime. Read on and you'll see what I mean. Rather than drawing a nose and chin, characters have a snout. Now, fair's fair, even cheap anime isn't quite as bad as that, but that's roughly how it goes. Cheap anime has its side views as a pointy nose running down into a chin, with the mouth stuck somewhere in the cheek. This is so the mouth can flap… Continue
Welcome back Spillmeisters, It's time for another action-packed rage-fest that I like to call Freeform Anger. Superjail's warden has issued me a copy of "Still Waiting," the direct-to-DVD sequel to "Waiting..." a cautionary tale that taught me to never antagonize my waiter lest any number of bodily fluids find their way into my food.
Seriously, I'm up to a 20% tip thanks to Ryan Reynolds' implied ballsack.
I don't know dick about this thing, so let's just dive right in.… Continue
When I first was introduced to your directing 'prowess' it was a remake of a Romero film, Dawn of the Dead. A gory little romp, making me really not want to hang out in a mall ever again. You did some things that may have been considered blasphemous to the zombie genre, like making them run like crack heads looking for a fix, or not quite getting the social nuance that the original film. But we forgave you, or at least I did. It was a bloody good time and having a… Continue
Seibertron.com reports today that Michael Bay has spilled a few more cool beans on the main villain of the Transformers, Megatron. This information comes following… Continue
It was another boring Wednesday when I get a call from my friend who said that he had tickets to go see Monsters Vs. Aliens. My Reaction was this movie might be mediocre because with the exception of Shrek and Kung Fu Panda, I am not a big fan of Dreamworks Animated movies. So when I found out that this movie wasn't coming out until the end of the month I realized I might as well see it like everyone else who may have gotten a pass. The movie starts up and when it is over all I can say is this… Continue
Addendum: I was so stunned by this image in so many different ways at first that I honestly could not speak. But now that I've had a moment or two to collect myself allow me to clarify. I point a finger at Fox because of the look of Deadpool as well as the characterization from what can be gathered from the text. It reads: "With the ultimate mutant, Deadpool, on the loose, Logan and Victor Creed… Continue
Let me start off by saying when I summarize this show it's going to sound a lot like the A-Team. For the most part it is and if the A-Team was based on something else then I don't know about it.
So if you haven't seen the show it's about a guy named Michael who was a spy until...uh never mind. He explains it at the beginning of every show, just like the A-Team, so just watch this.
There ya go saved myself some typing. What the intro didn't explain is… Continue
Every week on the Celtx Project Central Forum discussions there's a competition for screenwriting, sometimes it short, sometimes its long, sometimes it seems irreverent but practice makes perfect when you're aspiring screenwriter.
Participation requires a free download of Celtx script writing software (made by mozilla) and setting up an account. Once all that's done you can read and comment… Continue
Like most fans of the groundbreaking graphic novel Watchmen, I am in eager anticipation to see the film version due to be released this weekend. Yes, I did hear the audio review the Spill Crew gave. I figured as much that there would be some flaws with the film adaptation. I heard the rumors about the ending, I heard the complaints about how it was losing it's integrity of the original concept.
Wanna see the final Harry Potter movie, but can't wait till 2010 or 2011? Then have I got a treat for you! A friend of mine showed me a movie she found on youtube where a guy called lecter63 made a full length adaptation of the Harry Potter: The Deathly Hollows, using claymation. I'm posting the full movie here for you all to see. Enjoy!
If you've been living under a rock over the last few weeks, then you haven't heard the plans of a third Ghostbusters movie being in the script-writing process to start shooting in the fall. You probably also didn't hear that Judd Apatow was producing it and much of the cast from the first two films are also back on board as well with a script by two of the writers of 'The Office'.
So, I thought to myself, who would make a good cast of a third… Continue
We all have our prejudices when it comes to films, TV and books. Some of us will not go to see a Romantic-Comedy because they're 'chick-flicks'. Others think historical epics are just bloated excuses to show CGI armies and men jump at each other. Some of you reading this won’t go see a straight up Drama, just ‘cause it’s not what you think would be fun. We all generalise when it comes to films; there are groups here on Spill dedicated to prejudices against films that haven’t been seen. Probably… Continue
This movie is the shit and at the same time is absolute shit...
The story has something to do with a kid with anger managment issues and monsters who appear out of nowhere when some scientist (Robert Englund) eats a fat turd looking heart. This heart apparently belonged to some chupacabra looking monster which was buried in a box directly clogging the pipes to said scientists shitter. The… Continue
"Now relax. This won't hurt at all. Unless something really very bad happens."
With all the talk about video games being turned into movies (and the generally awful results that follow) I've really been thinking about how a game could possibly make a descent movie. I came to the conclusion that with these things it ends badly for one of two reasons;
(A) The material never really had much of a story or capacity to become a… Continue
Just wanted to let you guys know that tomorrow night at 7PM EST, Yahoo Movies will debut the final "Terminator Salvation" Trailer online in KICK-ASS HD!
