What the hell?!??

A newspaper in Chile ran an article on Dragonball: Evolution, and in it the budget of the movie was unveiled. According to the paper, the production budget was only 45 million, much less than the previous $100 million estimates. What this means is the film has already made about half its budget back in Asia alone.

"12 Rounds" - jabberwoky's "Carlyle Moment"

Imagine that the year is 2007 and you are offered two movie tickets. One is to a Nicholas Cage conspiracy movie, the other is to an action movie starring a wrestler from WWE. Which do you choose? At the time, I would have gone with Nicky Cage because I don't give a damn about the WWE.

Now it's 2009. You are offered two movie tickets. One is to a Nicholas Cage conspiracy movie, the other is to an action movie starring a wrestler from WWE. Which do you choose? It's quite unbelievable,… Continue

My reaction to the 'Where the Wild Things Are' trailer.

"I didn't want to wake you up, but I really want to show you something."

These are the only words spoken in the first official trailer for Spike Jonze's Where the Wild Things Are, but no more words were necessary to take me on a wild, joyous nostalgia trip. 'Where the Wild Things Are' was one of my favourite books when I was little (along with 'Goodnight Moon'), and my parents used to read it to me practically every night before I went to sleep. I was… Continue

Wind Chill (2007)

Late last night I saw this movie called Wind Chill with Emily Blunt. I had been contemplating for a few weeks now if I should watch it or not. I saw the trailer featured on a dvd, it looked good from what I saw but I still wasn't sure. I don't remember this coming to theaters, so most likely it went straight to dvd. Usually that's not a good sign about the movie. But before…

Look for you own Cloudy with a Chance of Meat Balls Scratch-N-Sniff Card at your local theatre today! Or not...

I already knew this film would be very gimmicky, but this? Will we be seeing the return of Smell-o-Vision? If that’s the case, can I ask when we will have the horror films with the electrodes attached to the seat… Continue

"Knowing"- A somewhat positive review...

Here's something to try:

1) Get a random number sheet (they're available all over the internet), the more numbers, the better. If you can't find one, copy down as many numbers of the number pi that will fit on a piece of paper (don't care about the lone decimal place).

2) Look for a specific date. Try looking for your birthday, the day you started your first job, your wedding anniversary, whatever. It doesn't matter if you put the day before the month, or the year before… Continue

Searching for terror.

quick fyi, i'm writing this more so i have a record of my quest than as an informative article for anyone else. i would like suggestions on (actually scary) horror films though, so if you have one for me, hook me up.

as acousticpunk posted here, we've been looking for a genuinely terrifying movie. the general point of the search is, for me at least, to try to recreate the feeling of being genuinely scared… Continue

Doug Jones Interview

Hey everyone, I would like to share my interview of Doug Jones with you all. I had this interview with him over MSN Instant Messenging, and it was great talking to him. Now you get the chance to read on what I had to ask him, and the great answers he had too. Enjoy!

Dylan Bargas: "Hm. Well what to start with. I guess I could start off saying I like your work as an actor. You're very talented, and what you did in Hellboy 2 was amazing. So what did you like the…

A Super Hero I'd Like To See Have A Movie.

I was flipping through channels and I saw Static Shock! I hadn't seen this show in years and never thought it was that great it was average however I decided to watch it today and I was digging it, I thought it had a cool premise on how everything came to be.

So I thought to myself If I could choose a super hero to make a movie off of who hasn't been done yet or hasn't been done in the last 15 yrs. I would honestly say Static Shock he's badass he's not really a nerd, he's… Continue

The Sci-Fi Channel changing its name to SyFy WTF?!!!!

The term "If it aint broke dont fix." has been one of the staples of common sense for ages and more and more in the modern age that phrase has been ignored with bad results.

Or must any of us remind you of new Coke or Pepsi clear? And that is just off the bat in our collective heads when something is changed so dramatically in this case a name our cynical minds immidiatley look into the flaws hidden by the renamed repackaging of anything we know.

So the Sci-Fi's channel… Continue
