Bulletstorm Review: Putting the Fun Back in Shooters

There are games out there that deliver powerful stories. There are other games out there that show the horrors and grittiness of war. Bulletstorm is neither of those games. Bulletstorm is a game that awards you points for pulling down a mutant's pants and shooting him in the ass. It's juvenile, it's crass, it's immature...and it's a hell of a lot of fun. Because what Bulletstorm does…

Thank God for Charlie Sheen.

You know, it's not often that I say this but I'm actually happy to sit back and watch someone completely loose their damn mind in their own battle of egotistical insanity. It's just funny to me that with the boring Oscars, the laughable "Thumbing of the nose to Hollywood" Razzie awards, lack of anything interesting in theaters for the last couple of weeks and of course, let's not forget the complete internet-rage over Justin Bieber's movie, I finally get something worth watching on TV.....…

Violence and Video Games or "Why it's ok to Virtually Maim to your Heart's Content"...

Oh, hey there. Didn't see you walk in. I did a coin toss to see what this article would be about: Violence in video games, or my top 10 favorite first-person shooter games. I got tails. Damn it. I really wanted to talk about Republic Commando.

Video games these days are the trendy punching bag for political pundits, overzealous news anchors, and people who have, in all honesty, never…

The Top 11 LET'S DO THIS!!!!! Podcasts of 2010

The patrons of Spill.com should have expected something like this. We all watch movies, TV shows, and listen to music so it's natural for us to have a "Best Of" or "Worst Of." But what about the one piece of entertainment that makes us different from the others and bond like a community? That's right, Spill.com deserves it's own Best Of list for their wonderful podcasts. For ACOCO, I'm a bit biased with which ones I enjoy the most, and for LEOG it's really, REALLY hard for me to choose ones…

PCP Episode 014: Scott Pilgrim

Once upon a time, at the P.C.P. Brownstone, 4 evil exes were getting a life. We've discussed the film and the game so now all that's left is discussing Bryan Lee O'Malley's 6-volume graphic novel. We talk the hipsterisms, game references and genuine relationship elements that made us fall in love with the books. Join… Continue

2011 Oscar Predictions (What Should Win vs. What Will Win)

Best Documentary Feature

What Should Win: Exit Through the Gift Shop

What Will Win: Inside Job

I haven't seen either of these movies, but I intend to watch Exit Through the Gift Shop very soon, so this prediction is based mainly on the buzz surrounding the nominees. The audience favorite is Exit Through the Gift Shop, but something tells me that the Academy's gonna vote for the more politically controversial…

Movies that are said to be overrated, that I believe are not

Movies are always met by praise, and panning, but at times there are some films that are so popular, they live a life of their own. Some films such as "Transformers" is one of those films, where the average crowd loves it immensely, but us movie buffs, and film critics just think it's a piece of crap. Some movies that are not like "Transformers" that are actually considered good films are also sometimes met with the same right as "Transformers" and are…

Top ten video game sequels/#2's

Is is not amazing how vastly different Movie, and Game sequels are from each other in terms of quality whereas I movie sequel will usually be a horrible unspeakable abomination of mankind(oh HI Jaws Revenge), and game sequels usually turn out to be some of the best the industry has to offer?(With the exception of Deus Ex 2, but we must not speak of such madness!)

Culture Jammin' #20!

Hey guys and dolls of Spill! Heavy D here, back again with another episode of the premier cultural commentary podcast, Culture Jammin'!

So this week, we had to talk about how horrifically awful the Super Bowl halftime show was. The Black Eyed Peas tied our hands, damn it! Also, we decided to have a little fun with Ronald Reagan, since last Sunday would've been his 100th birthday. Leave it to us to give him a present worthy of such a grand occasion. That's just the tip of the…
