The Dark Knight Rises Movie Review (SPOILERS!!!)

THIS IS A SPOILER-FILLED REVIEW.

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES is a violent, aggressive, doom-ridden, thrill-ride of a movie... and yes, it's good, very good. Even a bit better than The Dark Knight. It's definitely a much more action packed, faster paced film than it's predecessor, that's for sure, and it really works in setting up the many other characters we now have to follow (along with giving some more valuable time with familiar characters along the way). The…

Frantic (1988) Movie Review

Harrison Ford, what a guy. Not only does he rule as Han Solo in the Star Wars films, he also rocked as Indiana Jones, and he killed it as Dr. Richard Kimble (in which he should have been nominated for an Academy Award) in The Fugitive. But here we have Harrison Ford, 5 years before The Fugitive's arrival, standing as Dr. Richard Walker. Unfortunately, his wife has mysteriously disappeared (so she's not murdered right away, she's just missing). The plot is…

'Captain America: The First Avenger' Movie Review!

I really fell in love with this movie. After being surprised by 'Thor', I must admit that I wasn't heavily anticipating this movie. However, now that I finally have seen it (at noon, on opening day, not quite sure what's so "finally" about that), I can proudly say that I loved it. This is probably my third-favorite Marvel film thus far…

oh shit forgot about this post from way back.

Yeah people really need to get a life. But I guess if you're gonna attack one of the most successful players in Hollywood, you attack him in a way that will make him say, "Wait, what the shit are you talking about?"

LOL, fair enough. Not what I would call a classic... and in fairness I've not seen Harlem Nights in about 10 years. But I was more interested in the Richard Pryor and Red Foxx moments anyway. =)

Wait, you didn't like Harlem Knights? I know it's not a great film, but it is a fun film.

But yeah, Superman 4 almost made me cry with how lame it was. I still haven't brought myself to watch that one in the last 15 years. It's almost to the point where I've forgotten about Superman 4 (movie) but not forgotten that I didn't like it. lol

You know, maybe we should be "kind" when it comes to Superman and say that he's done 2 out of 5 good movies. That the first one is universally considered a good movie because it's his core "origins" and therefore had little chance of being a bad film. Then you include the 1/2 of Superman 2 that works (The General Zod part) and then 1/2 of Superman Returns (With parts here and there)... but Superman 3-4 were really bad. =)

Oh, I don't mind that Jonah Nolan might end up being the director, who knows.... might be as good as his brother.

But yeah, I just don't think that Nolan (Chris or Jonah) have a history of doing movies that match up with the Superman character. And that WB is so desperate to get something in the theaters that they are looking for a marketing tool, rather than what matches talents with property. I just hope that whoever does the Superman movie will do a good job. I'm tired of Superman only really being good for 1.5 movies out of 5. Because the problems of a "good" Superman movie started to appear 1/2 way through Superman 2 and it's been out of control since.

LOL, so far you are one of 3 people that seem to get what I'm saying. It's not that Nolans make bad movies, it's that Superman and Nolans might not be the best fit for writer/director and character. =)

While I hated 'Chun Li', as well. There's one thing redeeming thing about it... Chris Klein. Fuckin' great cheeseball performance! He was the only redeeming factor of the movie. Virtually everytime he was on-screen, I started to have a good time. Too bad there was too much bullshit wrapped around it!

Totally dead on, man. Chris Klein got it completely right. He read the title of this movie and took it exactly the right way. Every line he has is just dripping with 'I can't believe I'm getting paid for this'.

Yeah, I knew that about Renny... with the exception of Cliffhanger (which is a guilty pleasure), he's got a terrible filmography! Nightmare on Elm Street 4, Exorcist the Beginning, The Covenant!

BTW, glad you saw the error of your ways with Transformers 2.

Why? because Flesheater took his banning too seriously, went to Wikipedia and told them that SPill.com was a spam site and was filled with nothing but malware and trojans. Spill.com's page was taken off of Wikipedia, and they will no longer take it as a serious site unless it gets mentioned in something like The New York Times or something like that.
