Anime Movies.... can they be made properly?

Now for years comic book movies have been getting made, trashed, and applauded. Also, video games have been getting sh**ed on since they've been discovered by filmmakers. BUT, with the HUGE exception…Continue

A "REAL" Review of the Prince of Persia the Sands of Time...

Now I actually attended the Hollywood premiere and saw the movie, and let me say that I will be breaking this movie down as two things: a film as a whole and a video-game film.I wrote a blog some time ago, referring to this movie being "the first of many great video-game movies to come", and I completely stand by that. Here is a link.…See More

'The Prince of Persia'... the 1st of many great Video-game Movies to come.

Not since the first Mortal Kombat movie (whether you chose to believe it or not), has a videogame property been made into a faithful and successful film. True, the Resident Evil series has had financial successes in the box-office but fans of the videogame franchise have left unsatisfied and wanting. For the sake of getting a headache, I am not going to post, write, or even mention the slew of films Uwe Boll produced (for obvious reason). And I think the Street Fighter movie (both) is a dead…See More

New "The Karate Kid" Trailer

This is the new trailer for The Karate Kid, starring Jaden Smith, Jackie Chan and Taraji P. Henson. It is a remake of the classic Karate Kid flick, while this one is produced by Will Smith (Overbrook Entertainment).I can only speak for myself when I say that after seeing this trailer I feel a lot better about them remaking a classic that altogether didn't need to be remade. I feel more confident and at ease, even though I don't think Jaden has reached his acting potential yet (but he will soon…See More

Anime Movies.... can they be made properly?

Now for years comic book movies have been getting made, trashed, and applauded. Also, video games have been getting sh**ed on since they've been discovered by filmmakers. BUT, with the HUGE exception of Dragonball Evolution (it still hurts, folks), I believe that Anime films are the new wave to hit cinema..... I just don't trust much of hollywood with it.What do you think needs to be done to successfully make an Anime film? Is it actual JAPANESE (not Koreans, no offense) actors in the film, an…See More

Here's the deal If Prince Of Persia gets above 50% on RottenTomatoes, you win the bet.
Deal?

But if anyone takes a look at some of the films on my "best films of all time" that would torpedo my credibility

See, I'm glad you mentioned the Avengers, and by association Justice League..

I'm still trying to figure out how both Marvel and DC are planning on getting out Avengers and JL movies that will be "fair" to all the characters. Let's say that Avengers were coming out this year. Right now the "top character" is really Iron Man. Unless Thor, Capt America, and maybe a better Hulk comes along.. it's really just going to be "Iron Man and the other guys" type of movie. And in all honesty, as much as they want a JL movie, right now it's a "Batman and some other people you might know of" type of movie. Both of which doesn't really strike me as a good Avengers/JL movie. =)

As far as the redheads? Well, honestly I don't know their names.... but damn did you see those asses? Who needs names? lol

That's a good point about Marvel's plan. They are working "toward something" on a slow but steady pace.

WB however, sort of has to "rush" out a Superman movie or face additional "legal issues" with being sued for "Further damages", and can't really Re-boot the character without paying higher "Royalty fees". So, Superman is getting rushed into production and cancels out an origins story. Not really solid ground to make a movie going "towards something", when you have to literally dump out a movie with a character you have to sort of just "assume people know". It just doesn't have a natural flow to it that Marvel movies have. And while I don't think the Nolans will make a horrible movie, I just think that they are being sort of "assumed" to make a successful one.

And no one, not you, not me, not WB, not the writer, not the director and not the actors... NO ONE can promise a successful movie 2 years out.
