Cape Fear - a review

I was fortunate enough to see the 1991 scorcese film Cape Fear last night with a friend of mine. I went into it with little to no expectations, and I received a lot more entertainment than I thought I would. The story is as follows: man convicted of heinous crime (Robert DeNiro in a fantastic performance) spends 14 years in a federal penitentiary. His lawyer (Nick Nolte) had evidence that could've acquitted him. Convict gets released from prison and all hell breaks loose.Robert DeNiro should've…See More

Its interesting to point out, i really dont like horror films. This movie had me on the edge of my seat.Interesting story, believable acting (rumor has it that the directors kept some of the actors in the dark as to what was going to happen next while filming). I am going to let all my friends know that they should see this movie. Can't wait till rec 2 comes to theatres.Full Price filmSee More

Frost/Nixon

Frank Langella deserves the oscar. I've heard real good things about mickey rourke's performance in the wrestler, but i believe his performance could not outdo langella's nixon. It was one of the greatest performances i have ever seen. He embodied president nixon better than anyone ever has and probably ever will.

There are a few moments where nixon doesnt say anything but you can see the pain and self loathing that he feels. When it cut to credits, I teared up a bit. He was so… Continue

Trainspotting

This movie was disgusting in a good way though. I never realized that such a terrible thing could happen at a place where people eat. Anyway, this is the second best movie I have seen in this calendar year. Top notch everything. Ewan mcgregor was superb in the lead role. It is a fascinating portrayal of heroin addiction. Bunches more fun to watch than requiem for a dream. That's for sure. Full price. Now I'm gonna go see slumdog millionaire which I hear is greatness.

New Jack City

Wesley Snipes. Oh wesley snipes. You non-income tax paying son of a bitch.

His performance in this film was off the chain! Why didn't he do more dramatic roles like this?

Anyways about the movie.

Ice T almost completely ruined it for me cuz he cant act his way out of a nutsack. Other actors were pretty terrible too. Judd Nelson was used for about 5 minutes in this movie. What the hell? He is the man!

Overall rating, 7.5 out of 10.

I thought Levitt did as good a job as anyone could have done under the circumstances. And Channing Tatum keeps getting hired because dumb young chicks with disposable income keep going to see his movies.
