Heck, Spartacus was bathing in (comic book) blood by the end of the episode.Personally, Spartacus' first episode is a bit like comfort food ... very very familiar but satisfying. Personally, I thought the movie had a profound emotional impact. I felt that the ending was necessary because it was all steadily leading somewhere, and I like the fact that I didn't see it coming AT ALL. Maybe I feel strongly about the movie because my parents have lived such warfare in the Middle East and watching it with them was an experience to say the least.
Also, I think the acting was superb. It isn't a perfect movie but I think it did what it needed to do and then some, and I feel like at least some of the spill crew would enjoy it :)
P.S: I always applaud a movie that has me thinking about it long after the credits roll. This one had me thinking for a solid week haha
It's not a full fix, but it's a step in the right direction.
