With Russel T. Davis (who did a great overall job, in my opinion) leaving the show and Steven Moffat taking over (who's written some of the best damned Dr. Who ever) WHAT are some of your "dream things" that you'd like to see in the new series? M...

Profile Information

Hometown:
Syracuse NY
About Me:
disgruntled desk-bound misanthrope by day (which pays the bills), and lovable comic-writing & drawing fellow by night (which sooths the soul). Seriously, I'm focusing now on making the SWITCH from shitty day-job to fulfilling art-job as my primary means of income. it's what I want to do for the rest of my life.
All Time Favorite Movies:
- Number One Movie: The Sting.

- Best Movies (in terms of quality...I don't place the films in this list any higher than each other): Do the Right Thing; Godfather I&II, Evil Dead II, Rushmore, Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead (original), Royal Tennenbaums, Ghostbusters, Ratatouille, Shaun of the Dead, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

- Most-often-watched-movies (I LOVE these movies. they may or may not be paragons of film, but I WATCH THEM ALL THE TIME): The Big Lebowski, Superbad,Talking Heads: Stop Making Sense; Evil Dead 1, Army of Darkness, The Life Aquatic, Millers Crossing, He Got Game, Hustle & Flow

- Not AS good but I still like them a hell of a lot: Ghostbusters II, Day of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead (remake), 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up

- Favorite-things-that-are-not-movies-but-ARE-just-as-good-as-any-movie-mentioned-above: Cowboy Bebop (series, plus movie), Spaced (s1 & 2) The Venture Bros (s1,2&3), Twin Peaks (S1 and yes, 2,and even the movie... it's the overall mythology & characters I like), The Young Ones, Doctor Who, Firefly,

-Comics (because it is the world's most perfect storytelling format): Bone, Transmetropolitan, Scott Pilgrim, Ancient Joe, The Walking Dead, Blankets
All Time Worst Movies:
-1- Bad movies I love. Bad... truly low quality films, really bad... but I like them: Dude, Where's my Car? "Lionman II: The Witchqueen", The Fantastic Four (The Roger Corman one, not the far-inferior Tim Story ones), The Theatrical Trailer for "Swamp Thing"

-2- Movies that are like a SLAP IN THE FACE. Ones that promise you one thing, and then after a while you realize the film has betrayed you and swiftly kicked you in the groin. Movies such as: Daredevil, The Mummy, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Batman Forever & Robin, The Fifth Element (yes, I'm serious. Shut up, you're wrong), Daredevil, Blade II, Van Fucking Helsing, Daredevil, and Daredevil.

-3- The worst films, to me, are the ones that are 50%. They offer nothing truly good. They aren't even "so bad they're good". they just... exist. Ones that are not worth wasting the air or muscle control to utter one single "meh." I cannot even begin to list any of these films. There are SO MANY of them... ones that float in the flotsam & Jetsam of movie limbo and eventually wind up the "Sunday Noon-o-Clock movie" on your local CBS affiliate. They commit the GREATEST crime any movie can... and that crime is WASTING your time.
Favorite Actors or Actresses:
All-Around: Edward Norton, Bill Murray

Fun: Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Tina Fey, Bruce Campbell,

Odd: John Tuturro (sp?), John Goodman, Frances McDormand,

Compelling: Morgan Freeman, Paul Newman, Denzel Washington,

Seh-heck-see!: Tina Fey (smart and sexy), R-R-Rosario Dawson, Scarlett Johansen, Sarah Silverman
Favorite Directors:
(list incomplete. work in progress. )

Before I go into the directors, let me give a little Love to the greatest music composer for films EVER... Mr. Ennio Morricone.

Directors:
- Perfect Batting Average (haven't YET let me down): Alfred Hitchcock, Edgar Wright, Spike Lee*, Craig Brewer, Robert Altman*, Wes Anderson, Chris Nolan, Martin Scorsese*

*(asterisked people: I haven't seen all of their films yet... so...)

- HAVE let me down, but I forgive them and will keep watching their films: Francis Ford Coppola, Kevin Smith, Sam Raimi, Coen Bros, Danny Boyle, Bryan Singer, Peter Jackson,

- irregular batting average, they have just as many misses than hits (in my opinion), but when they're on, they're on and able to achieve wonder: Ridley Scott, Ivan Reitman, Tim Burton, John Landis

Dude, it's 1pm and I'm still not awake yet. Maybe I should jump in the shower for a couple of minutes. But I'm afraid that the way I feel, that I'll end up taking a nap afterward.

The high for today was 36. The good news is that the snow melted as fast as it came, and it won't be blowing over all Halloween. I give it another month til it sticks, though.

And you have to have the idea its a good whether day about 30 degrees if you live past the city.

Well dude, something has occurred you can relate to: I woke up today to a freshly fallen snowbank that was my backyard. Well, snowbank is hyperbolic, but it did snow. Hows the whether further south?
