Hey, I commented on the movie "Beat" you & Tommy made, here is my comment:
Hey, Miguel, really enjoyed the movie "Beat" you & Tommy made. I thought it was well shot & edited.
I understand "thepropayne's" comment on better music, but TOTALLY understand budget and music rights constraints!
I also *respectively* disagree with "The Eyball Kid's" critisisms...
I understood you to "be aware" of this "Musical Ride" you are on *a waking daydream* where you are propelled from one musical scenario to another, and you KNOW this isn't real and your smiles convey your awareness and eager anticipation of "What Happens Next"? *did NOT take me out of the scene*
Although I understand his comment about "The 180 Degree Rule"
But I feel because Tommy set up in the master shot you (Miguel) are *albeit on the left* you are against the windows in the chair, and *albeit she is on the right* she is standing in front of you with her back to the "stacks" *rows of book shelves*.. SO even though Tommy shot over your left shoulder Miguel *instead of your right shoulder / breaking the 180 Degree Rule* I did NOT find it jarring ..& I (as a viewer) was NOT confused and followed the flow of the story fine! ( I get it you are sitting in the chair your back to the window, she is Clearly in front of you her back to the books).
My only one small critisism was the part where Haleigh motions over to you, and you respond "What? Who Me? style" felt a little heavy handed. *Almost a Silent Film Era style of acting response*... Otherwise GREAT JOB GUYS!
