Jonathan,
Thanks for the feedback regarding snow in New Mexico.
I guess that I should have clarified.
I do realize that it does snow in areas of New Mexico, but it just doesn't seem that it would be the most likely place to film this movie, since within the original the setting added so much to the atmosphere of the movie.
I guess the bottom line is that I really have issues with Hollywood not being original with the movies that they churn out. They seem to prefer to use the cookie cutter method or continue to rehash movies with numerous and a lot of times pointless sequels. So when something new, fresh and original comes out it is rather nice. To me when that happens it is saying that someone at least put in the effort to create something.
Thanks again for the feedback :-)

haha well its the ending that makes me just hate it. I thought there was so much build up, suspense, smart crime stuff, and to have it end with just about every character getting shot with their back turned was just retarded to me. I know that it's more realistic, and im not the immature one who just wants every good guy to kill every bad guy, but the film doesnt do it effectively. For example Quentin Tarantino is a master at this. In fact I consider Resevoir Dogs pretty much the Departed but alot simpler and a hell of alot smarter.

and i dont care about the symbolism or metaphors that happen in the end. when it comes down to it, I want a good story, and one that ends with everyone killing eachother just to say "people tend to backstab eachother" is just too much bullshit for me to handle. I thought te acting was superb and the cast was freakin amazing, and throughout the movie i was enjoying it, but fuck that ending. (same thing with No Country for Old Men)

I haven't seen it because I found out about the ending beforehand and it was just too ridiculous to process that I decided to skip it.

Eternal Sunshine Spotless Mind? Saw it, thought it was a good movie. But when all the praises started to come out for the movie, my gut was saying "Yeah, but it has Jim Carey, it's not THAT great". Although I see why people DO love the movie, it's just something that I normally don't talk about much.

The original Terminator along with it's sequel, Terminator 2: Judgement Day are prime examples of what a good sci-fi should be. Well-shot action sequences with great visuals and cgi, and most importantly well-developed characters who we care for...
