For the first time on Spill.Com, Spill Members from Great Britain and the United States bring to Spill a weekly podcast where ALL Spill members are welcome to appear as guests and speak on what's on their minds on Spill and everything else.
When I was a kid my sister and I would watch movies together all the time. She'd even let me tag along to the movie theater when I was in middle school and she was a cool high school student. When she worked at Albertson's she'd bring home multiple movies, a shitload of candy, soda and popcorn and we'd watch movies all night.
Now I'm married to a movie buff... a smart (read: nerdy) one that knows all the filmsy stuff about film-making. When we lived in the States our go-to date was dinner and a movie. If there was nothing playing at the theater we'd rent movies or stream them via Netflix (I miss Netflix :().
When I wanted to watch shitty movies we'd go to the HEB and put a dollar in for the worst movies ever!
Now I temporarily live in Japan and English-speaking movies come out here once every 2 months (oh yeah, and tickets cost about $12 on discount nights, $18 on regular nights). I can't rent movies and I can't stream Netflix outside of the U.S. ... but I persevere!
My favorite band is Built to Spill, my favorite TV show is Scrubs, my favorite food(s) are Italian and Mexican, my favorite drink is something with gin in it, one of my favorite authors at the moment is Christopher Moore and my favorite 7-book series is Harry Potter (haha).
I currently love Japan, but I'm not some anime-freak or otaku or weeaboo. Seriously. I hate otaku/weaboo more than anything in the world.
All Time Favorite Movies:
Moulin Rouge!, Shakespeare's Romeo+Juliet, Monty Python's The Life of Brian, La Dolce Vita, Leon (The Professional), Labyrinth, The Princess Bride, El Laberinto del Fauno, The Fall, From Dusk Till Dawn, 28 Days Later, The Little Mermaid.
Tiny Titans and the Marvel digests of Mini-Marvels and Power Packs are excellent for young readers. Also look for "The Amulet", Bone and "Shazam!: The Monster Society of Evil" graphic novels
