Zombies: Then, now and the future...

Now who doesn't like a good zombie movie? I know i bloody love them from Night of the living dead to Zombie Strippers! The revamp of the zombie-horror genre in the past few years has left me craving more flesh eating, gut munching blood soaked action and so i began to reflect upon what the zombie incorporates and how the image of the modern day zombie has changed over the years as effects became more advanced.

First and foremost we must look at the work of George A.Romero, the so called king/cr… Continue

What is the greatest action movie EVER!!!!! And subsequently what makes a great action film??

What is going on with some film today.... i want action not drama, I want explosions and car chases with if possible a decent plot. Films like taken (which as pointed out in the spill review came out on my side of the water first YAZZZZZZZZZZ :D) have given me hope for the modern action film, all kicking ass all the time, Liam Neeson doesn't need reason he has electricity and " a set of skills" that are so fucking immense he could snap your arm of with his left buttcheek. However, has the modern… Continue

Afterthought:

By being well known, of course I refer to his "legacy" being taught her in America. Most Americans have no idea who he really was, or what he really had to go through to GET to the point of having a peace offer, of ANY type.

Oh, believe me, I'm really not trying to start a conflict with anyone's political points of view.

But the movie really did make you think about Michael Collins and the position he was put into by the Free States treaty. Was he simply finding the best solution available, or should he have held out for more? It's something that you watch the movie (At least in the States) and actually pause to ask, should he have kept fighting?

Now, as far as personal knowledge. Hell yeah he was a hero to a nation, and possibly one of the greatest figures of Irish history that isn't really well known as he should be. His "legacy" isn't as well known as it should be, and hopefully people will at least give the movie a chance to learn something they didn't know.

For me personally, he's somewhat of a "legend" from my grandparents that places him on the same level as almost all the "American Revolutionary" fighters that I learned in school as a kid. It was my grandparents that taught me about Michael Collins and the real Irish Republic, not what we were told in school. (By we, I mean here in America)

Hey, no problem man. Welcome to Spill, I've only been here a few months myself. It's a fun sight full of alot of unique personalities.

Yeah so was I. I think about 6 or 7 months. I only joined when I came up with an idea for a blog I wanted to write. Most people are really decent on here. There's a couple of assholes but you see them coming a long way off. But they seem to always be in the forums so as long as you stay out of there everything's gravy.

Yeah you wouldn't think there would be many but from a group I joined there seems to be about 15 or 16 Irish people. I'm from Greystones in Wicklow. Is that picture from your debs?

Nice tux. Just saw your comment on the new LEOG podcast. I only started reading comics recently myself but the best I've seen so far are Maus, Watchmen, Batman City of Crime and Arkham Asylum. Pride of Baghdad is really good too.

Just thought they might help you get started, it sucks to take a chance and spend €20 or $20 on a Graphic Novel and then it turn out to be one of the shite ones. Welcome to Spill by the way!
