About Me:
Hey everybody names Joey B. i live in Michigan and I'm an Art Major at the university of Toledo with a focus in new media. I love animated films, especially pixar movies, in fact it is my dream to one day work for pixar or for a company that makes films similar to pixar's or just start my own animation studio and do things my way either way. I like all kinds of music but i have to say my favorite genre is heavy metal. I tend to like movies with very dark, kind of gothic, pessimistic themes, and you wouldn't be able to tell that about me just by looking at me. I'm a big fan of the antihero, the guy who really has no reason to save anybody who owes nothing to the world but will still go to great lengths to protect others even those who don't deserve it. I'm big into graphic novels especially manga. I would have to say my favorite thus far is Johnny the Homicidal Maniac by Jhonen Vasquez. and uh yeah that's all i think of to say right now. I'll prolly add more in the future but for now i'm gonna leave it at that! Later!

Escape the Fate "This War is Ours" (MUSIC REVIEW)

I was first introduced to the "band" Escape the Fate at the Black on Black tour, a couple years ago. I had never heard of Escape the Fate before and after that show I wish I hadn't. Don't get me wrong, Escape the Fate is okay if you're into that kind of music (post- hardcore/screamo/grind-core), whatever you want to call it, but for me It's very rare that I like a band from that genre. Ever since that show I never heard from that band again until recently when my friend Thomas played me a song… Continue

"Battle for Terra" Review and Rant

Anyone who knows me personally knows I'm big into animated films especially the one's in 2D. Let's face it, when it comes down to it, the current 3D films we have today can't beat those classic films such as "Beauty and the Beast," "The Lion King," "Akira," "Aladdin," "The Iron Giant," "Titan A.E.," "Princess Mononoke" and many many more. Think about scenes like the one from "The Lion King" where you had that massive stampede that killed Simba's father. That was all drawn by hand!… Continue

Give it a try now. It's a problem on Ning's end of things and they're supposed to be working towards a fix for it. Here's what I got as a reply when I submitted a support ticket to them:

"I have information for you. The good news is that you haven't missed out on any friend requests. What you are seeing are "phantom" friend requests. I'll try to explain, but it is a little goofy what is happening.

Right now, when you've cleared out your friend requests, you may see 1 outstanding (or 2 or 3, etc.), but what that actually represents are requests from people who have either been suspended or left the network. That number basically shouldn't display, but it is displaying. So, when you go to click on that phantom friend request, the system doesn't see any pending friend requests and points you to your list of all friends instead. So, if you get 12 friend requests today, you'll see those and will be able to get to those to approve them, but once you've approved them all, that annoying "1" outstanding phantom request will show up again. Hope that makes sense. It's a pretty annoying bug, but one we can fix.

Now that we have identified the problem, we can work on the fix. I will report back as soon as I have info on that fix."

Hopefully it's just a minor glitch that they'll have fixed soon. Let me know if it continues to be screwy or if/when they fix it. Thanks.

Okay, see that's the funny thing. Personally, I don't consider Avatar to be "Perfect", but that's because I was NOT looking for a "perfect" film going into the theaters. I got exactly what I was expecting from the movie... a highly entertaining story, that would visually blow me away with it's presentation, and above everything else a movie that would be well made from start to finish without anyone "lacking" on the production values. And, like every other film from James Cameron that's exactly what I got.

While I do LIKE the movie, I fall short of calling it perfect. BUT, it is perfectly fitting to exactly what I was expecting, and my expectations were already higher than most films when I sat down in my seat. Going by the "Spill Rating System", Avatar at WORSE is a High Matinee that can only be fully enjoyed with on the Big Screen, at best it's a Solid Full Price movie that will meet if not exceed your expectations of what you've come to know from James Cameron.
