One must voice one's opinions from time to time, or else you'll be flooded with material that's always the same.

District 9 is Better Than Sex AND better than The Dark Knight (gasp!)

District 9 Review

If there’s one thing this movie can teach to the likes of Michael Bay and Stephen Sommers, it’s that it is humanly possible to make a sci-fi/action movie with tons of great effects and CGI for only 30 million dollars. That’s the budget of this movie, and it certainly doesn’t show. This movie has some of the best integrated CGI I’ve ever seen in a movie. Oh, and one other thing. The rest of the movie rocks, too.

This is the best summer blockbuster since The Dark Knight, and I’… Continue

My Thoughts on the Upcoming Tintin Movie

When I heard that a Tintin movie was in the works, I was ecstatically happy. Tintin is a great comic book series full of action, adventure, great stories and great characters, and it seems like the books could be very easily translated into movies.

For those of you who don't know, the Belgian comic books feature Tintin, a young reporter who travels the world with his dog, Snowy. Along the way, he meets all sorts of crazy characters like Captain Haddock, Dr. Calculus, and Thompson and Tompson, a… Continue

Evan Spiliotopoulos to Write "Wanted 2": My Reponse

Spill has already posted the story on their front page, but for those of you who missed it, Evan Spiliotopoulos has been chosen as the writer for the second "Wanted" movie. First of all, that must have sucked for Evan S., as we'll call him, when he was a kid, because that is just a name that kids would laugh to no end at and constantly poke fun at.

But here's where things get really fucked up. "Wanted" was an R-rated action movie with all sorts of objectionable, definitely-not-made-for-little-k… Continue

Zack's Top 11 Movies from his Childhood

My childhood was dominated mainly by animated movies and silly, ridiculous comedies that only a kid a could love. It's been a while since I've seen most of these, but being fairly smarter than I was back then, I think I can discern the good films from the bad. So I gauged this list on how good the movies really are, how much I liked them back in the day, and how many times I watched them. I rewatched many of these movies repeatedly as a kid, and never got tired of some of em. I'm still a teenage… Continue

My Review of Watchmen

I went to go see Watchmen on opening night, and so here is my review of one of the most anticipated movies of the year...that will more than likely be forgotten by mid-June. Because while I really dug it, a lot of others didn't. And the fact that this is the first real super hero movie since the masterpiece that is The Dark Knight (fuck The Spirit) makes it seem even wors… Continue
