Hey Tom, just to give you head's up if you want to hang out briefly with the gents:
NYCB&V #16: Saturday 3/26 Sucker Punch in IMAX
Time: 12:30 Midnight madness
Place: Loews Lincoln Square 13 (68th and Broadway)
If you get there early, I'll be at the West Side Restaurant one block north around 11-ish (Got a feeling line up for this movie could be rather heavy with IMAX)
So far, I know the following are down for this one:
Dr. Detfink
G-man
Mr. Burn Notice
Woody89
Original Richard
Jose Antonio Rivera
Let us know if you're available. Cheers.Hi Tom,
Midtown Comics has 40% off graphic novels till Friday I believe. Sorry I got this to you so late.
Friday I will be having a beer with G-man at the Spring Lounge. If you want to pony up, we should be there at 8pm.
Cheers. :)
As your weekly sommelier of comic books, allow me to introduce you to a brand new Asian horror line coming out at Image comics. Daomu is a story about Chinese Grave robbers who inadvertently release a supernatural spirit from its slumber. It's illustrated and translated fom the Tomb Robber's journal by Kennedy Yu (no its not available on Amazon.com). Apparently the author's grandfather made his living as a grave robber and some of these creepy stories are loosely about his experiences.
Check it when you get a chance.:)
Oh and if you're into non-mainstream comic books may I suggest, the Infinite Vacation. #1 just came out last Weds. It's very Philip K. Dick-ish if you read Ubik.
Pretty much the premise is an ordinary guy who loves to spend his time in the virtual world. Essentially in this reality people spend more time online in their virtual self vs dealing with reality. So this guy lives his life trying to work the probability of living his best of the best life. Unfortunately, he runs this string of dying in the virtual life a number of times at the same time. It involves the same point, running into this woman who is a protester of the Infinite Vacation.
It's written by Nick Spencer (Morning Glories)...total mind fuck.
I hope you have a good weekend. Don't know if you pick up you comic books at a shop but if you get a chance check out Heroes for Hire & THUNDER Agents. Both titles just got going a couple months ago.
D.d.
