hey man I've been there, literally. take this for what its worth, I tried like you say to win a spot in some publication, and I never did. well that is until I stopped thinking about winning and just wrote a story I liked. It's like they say wright what you know and it will be believable. wright what you like and you'll just rehash what you've read. but hey man take that for what its worth (probably jack shit) and good luck in your quest to be published. oh and when i say I won I mean my story got an honorable mention in the finger lakes literary bi annual publication. But that was enough to please me.

yes i find it very helpful it is a group of aspiring writers some even went to college for it so their critisism is good to hear no matter if its goodor bad it helps you develope a better story but if you are writing a book it is always bad luck to let someone read it before it is finished lol so i have found i havent read your stuff but i would like to always like good stories. so what kind of stories you write? I write scfi fantasy horror and detective stories cause i like those type of stories superheroes some people like those type of stories but it is hard to be original in superhero form guy did an excellent job with superheroes in his story but i am writing my story and posting it on spill the corpse undead detective story and dead mans gun which im hoping acomic book company will let me publish those well hope i was helpful hit me up man anytime peace
