Garbage Cinematique: Fight you dogs!

What is this fascination with bad movies? Aside from finding them hilariously bad why do I spend so much time watching and drawing inspiration from bad movies, especially bad action movies? I have written a few comedic plays over the years and I have included fight scenes in them. I have training in stage combat both armed and unarmed. So why in the name of fruity pebbles would I want to emulate the bad movies I have compiled below?
I guess that bad fighting scenes have the audacity to be bad. I… Continue

Master-Bay-tion

There are a lot of people out there who hate Michael Bay. He has been accused of everything from destroying cinema (which he hasn't) to being a crass sell out who is more concerned with filming explosions than actors.(which is more accurate). Whatever he is there is one fact...there is no escaping his movies.
Now I don't hate Michael Bay. I know exactly what he is. He's that kid you played with when you were ten who only wanted to play one game and that game usually involved pretending to shoot… Continue

Ode to a dead theater

You know yer getting old when the places you went to as a kid have been torn down. A few years back I read a tiny little article in the local paper that said that the Coronet was closing down. For those of you who are San Francisco/ bay area impaired this will take some explaining.
The Coronet was built in the early 50's, It was one of the last huge single screen- non multiplex theatres in San Francisco and it was where I saw Star Wars for the first time in 1977.
I wasn't the only one. The Coron… Continue

Age of crap: Manimal

Back...In the mists of the past there was a time when television was a wasteleand of bad shows populated by bad actors with bad writing. This was a time when cable was limited to but a handful of channels. A time when MTV had only 14 music videos. A time before ESPN, Nickelodeon, USA or Bravo. A time where any two bit producer could get anything they wanted on television no matter how stupid the premise was. It was the late 70s to early 80s. A time period that will forever be remembered as the a… Continue

Took a break but now I'm back

After getting all worked up about trying to do something worth while on Spill I then dropped off the face of the Earth. Truth be told I got very busy and when you don't get paid to do something, even if it's a fun something, it can drop by the wayside when time gets tight. So anyways I'm gonna try this whole blog thing again and this time I promise to post more regularly...I swear...No really.

And I LLLuuuuV Dark City. Back when Jennifer Connelly was babe-a-licious, not all scary skinny skeletor. Such beautiful art direction!!! The contrast between this 40s beach postcard memory with "reality"... AWESOME!!

Yes, definitely shave before latexing. You can do an all-natural effect with kleenex and karo syrup. It takes some practice, and it isn't as durable and long-wearing, but it is MUCH easier to remove and better for your skin. Adding eraser shavings, corn meal, and frayed acrylic yarn makes neeeto gruesomeness as well! =)

We are lucky enough to have 2!!! drive-ins in our area and they always show double features of current movies. I wish they would do a B horror movie night. That would be awesome!! I'll have to talk to someone about that.

I'm so glad I came to your page. I didn't know there was a group for 35+! I'll have to check that out. I love it when they talk about the olden days on LEOG or Carlyle busts out an 80s rap on ACOCO!

Your pictures are great (cute kids!) plus acting is so much fun! The most I get to exercise my chops anymore is in our church Christmas play. We're a pretty damned good company if I do say so myself and we have terrific personnel w/NY experience. But I go on....Great to meet you!
