Observe and Report: Review'd

I just got to see an advanced screening of the new Seth Rogen comedy Observe and Report on Monday courtesy of Spill.com's generous givaway. And I have one thing to say; Watchmen has nothing on this movie when it comes to penis. I'll get to that later thou… Continue

Watchmen: Review'd

I'll be brief in my introduction. This movie had many major flaws I'd like to address...

Watchmen is not an action story. And someone needs to explain this to Zack Snyder, because we wasted four minutes with a fight we didn't need to see that could have been spent on actual plot and… Continue

"The Dark Knight DVD Collector's Edition" Review

I've just gotten a DVD, and I felt the strong urge to review it. Lo and behold the awesomeness of my new DVD, The Dark Knight Collector's Edition! The ultimate version of this to get for a Dark Knight fan since the Special Edition ain't all that special, and by far the best way to spend your money. I, for instance, got this at Walmart for $21 bucks. That, my friends, is a bargain. And with the economy the way it is right now, you gotta be smart with your money.

Why is this so greatContinue

It's a good thing not everyone does write like that. But come on dude, you know I only capitalize words that I'm trying to emphasis within a sentence.

Besides, it still beats all-caps and "l33t" speak. =)

You have a point, but here's the thing; he's getting older, he's had a long career and he's never gotten an Oscar. If you fit that criteria, you're in.

I haven't read Naruto actually, though I just don't like the TV show and wouldn't judge the manga just yet.

I've seen parts of Avatar (No the whole show) and I respected it for what it WAS. It just wasn't for me personally. I found myself wanting Avatar to just kick the teeth out of people from time to time because those characters were annoying to me due to the way the were created.

But, I respected Avatar for being able to NOT fall into the same stuff every other show did. It broke the "mold" so to speak BY being different. Ben 10? Well, ironically when I first saw the show I almost automatically thought of Avatar, and now it makes sense why I would. lol

You are right about the fact that sometimes, it's better to see an adapted Manga(Comic) in animated format. I wish more people would USE that format and stop trying to do "Live-action" all the time.

Manga-to-anime is something else that I don't really like. I understand they are cashing in on the popularity of the manga,....Like you said, they do get filled with filler material that SUBTRACTS from the anime while they wait for the next manga issue to come out.

And I think it's more a statement on American shows in general, that they all almost always tend to fall into "formulaic formats". Sit-coms, Dramas, Soap-operas, even to an extent Reality "Gameshows" tend to be the same thing over and over, with different faces and new names.

Strange isn't it?

Years ago, Disney pushed animated stuff on us, and tried to make it a money-making machine, while Japan pushed out "Story based" stuff.

Today, Japanese animated stuff is run looking at the "marketability" side of things like Disney, but American shows are going back to the "Story based" stuff.
