Hope you had a nice holiday. :)
Request sent! :)
Very cool of you to help out your family after Sandy. Keep me updated and I'll definitely look you up on Lamebook, I mean Facebook. :)
Thanks for all the support Shegaw. I'm so glad you went to Red Rooster. We definitely have to hang sometime. :)
Haha. Well aware of my popularity. All those rumblings are horribly inaccurate, irrelevant to my goals but utterly amusing. In NYC, you're not put on this Earth to be liked. Every one wants to take what you have. You want something? You fight for it and expect no help. After decade after decade of fighting in the urban jungle, "the talk" can continue till heart's content. It's no more dangerous than the most lippy termite. For those keeping score, 3 out of the 4 spill crew plus LEOG see things my way. I'm fine with that.
As for the community, no one said I had to bend and serve their needs. No one was supportive during year one when the NY spill get together collapsed (that's the second embarrassing implosion) over a exaggerated rumor. When I founded NY B&V and took over the group. It was a population of 2. Basically I rebuilt it from scratch. It didn't take long to learn a lot of spillios are only on your group to sniff if you're going to cater to the crew, they could give a fuck about what it cost time and money to put something together. Therefore I didn't use spillios to build my group, I used NYC and brought them to spill to build up my ranks. Therefore they are loyal to me. So it doesn't matter how much "talk" is served. That's when things started to take off. Wished I thought of it sooner than 6 months of typing and begging people to show during year one.
There have been notable surprises within the spill community, members from Berlin and Australia visited us. I was so flattered.
As for a slice of pizza, Shegaw you are modest in your friendship. Next time you're in town, I'm taking you to Tom Colicchio and sons or Red Rooster Harlem. It's the least I can do for kindred soul. You're right it's RARE to find that on the internet. Therefore I treat my friends like natural resources to be cherished and protected. :)
All is well in Gotham, NYC continues to excite and entertain with limitless venues. NY B&V is approaching its 33rd meet up in Philadelphia. That will be our 4th out of state group trip. We're refining our methods to go further as a group. After NYCC in October our 35th (45th overall), we will wring in our fourth year of meet ups rotating the planner duties amongst 5 cogs in the group that have been the most consistent in attendance. Overall, I would sa our meet ups have grown to 15-18 members in the foundation. With peripherals, we were able to host a double movie feature over 30 people. We've done an efficient job solidifying a group that was never about partying so much as it was job networking, connections, support, and hopefully working on sponsors. Took a lot of work but the NY B&V functions completely independent from spill and can withstand any silliness from the peanut gallery or horribly exaggerated immaturity and entertaining fiction on podcasts.
Most of all, this group is ready to take care of its own business. That means, I don't have to watch over it as much...I get back to my career, my relationship, and most of all enjoying life. That is not to say it was not a labor of love constructing it over the years, it means...similar to the Dark Knight Rises, anyone can be a hero...and every man has to learn tobstep away and lend the cowl to the right soul.
Thank you so much for asking and if you're ever in town. Dinner is on me, my brother. :)
