Seth "Spicolli" posted a statusLadies and Gentlemen, what a year this has been for filmakers, independent and blockbuster directors. I can't say there were any true disappointments this year. Definitely some great crowd pleasers and guilty pleasures for everyone of every age this year. Also original stories that caught my attention.
1. The Master- Something so brave, so new for films to come by in a long time. Phillip Seymour Hoffman was great as a troubling religious cult leader speaking and helping Joaquin…

Hey there, the last couple of movies i've rented have been interesting, and not all completly big blockbusters or heard of, but instead quirky lesser known flicks.
Leaves of Grass starring Edward Norton, Keri Russell, and Edward Norton (as a twin role), this was really original for a comedy and drama put together as one messed up and mixed up pair of brothers get to know each other better after being away from each other in a long time. Edward Norton does a good job at playing two…

We will go see "Star Trek", maybe another film, have a BBQ, go throw the football & play some frisbee golf,
watch some history channel & war movies at home,
& we will attend a memorial service on monday (my son is performing with the pipe band).
How bout you? any plans (besides "Fast 6")?
Here is your moment of Zen.
Hey, great news on the graduation (& the ring!).
I have not seen "The United States of Tara", pretty good, huh?
I recently tried to get into "Girls" on HBO, but I could NOT take the
"whining" & and sense of entitlement by the lead character,
oh well, I must be way too old for their target demographic, haha.
Been busy catching up on "Game of Thrones" & "Boardwalk Empire",
I can't wait for the final saeson of "Breaking Bad" this summer!
Pretty good, celebrated Mother's Day (for my wife), took her out to lunch & dinner,
and we watched "Gangster Squad" & "Jack Reacher" (enjoyed both).
How did you like "Iron Man 3" & "Star Trek: Into Darkness"?
Haha, YES! In elementary school the teachers knew I was an artist,
so I brought in some of my magazine covers & did a drawing demonstration,
NOTHING impresses kids more if you can draw elephants, giraffes & esp. T-Rexs!
Dude, you might have a different job by then, but irregardless just approach any
occupation with pride, place the focus on what you do = helping sick people,
I'm sure ALL kids have been to a pharmacy with their moms, so they can relate to what you do!
Have a great weekend!
Haha, LOVE it! *It's SO BAAAAAAD, it's good!*
hmmm for Indian Michael Jackson I prefer THIS!
Speaking of bad Indian movie scenes
And for a stinker of a movie fight scene there's THIS
My wife always drew little notes for my boys school lunches (elementary school),
and on for mondays (sunday night) she'd have me draw the notes,
(personal greetings from Hulk, Spiderman, Ultraman, Godzilla, Superman, Goku, Ninja Turtles, etc.)
*My boys still have some of their favorites*
Another talent I have, is making my boys open faced peanut butter sandwiches,
which I would then draw (with a butter knife) faces of their favorite characters
Spiderman, Hulk, Ultraman, Goku, Superman, etc.
*The key is to spread it on thick and smooth the surface to have a blank "canvas" to draw on*
Here's your moment of zen
Yes, Drew Struzan! I also liked Jack Davis' stuff.
Plus I LOVE the work by all these guys: Movie Poster Artists
Yes, I have to admit we used to spend up to an hour at the old video store picking
our weekends movie selections. We would pick based on who was in it, what we felt like
(agree upon) mostly comedies & action. Before I wasmarried,
def. YES! the cover art would influence my buddies & I,
but also by reading magazines like: Starlog , Fangoria , Cinefex ,
Cinefantastique , Science Fantasy Film Classics , & Famous Monsters of Filmland
we would learn about upcoming Sci-Fi & Horror films.
So true! In this day and age of photoshop all movie posters and movie covers look the same!
and here's PROOF!
What happened to the good old days?
Like This? or This? or even This?
Yes, the sword fight in "Jason" is still Amazing!
I'll bet they have another reference to Harryhausen in "Monsters University".
I have fond memories of watching monster movies on crappy TVs,
*even funnier are crappy monster movies on crappy TVs!*
Not really any road trips, kind of a boring summer (broke$).
Very sad news on Ray Harryhausen, I was moved to write This
Even though "Jason and the Argonauts" was his magnum opus,
I'm partial to the dinosaur movies "One Millin Years B.C." & "The Valley of Gwangi".
How bout you?
YOLO! (both)
I haven't lived in that many states (does Guam even count?)
There really wasn't a worst, All seem to have Pros & Cons
How bout you?
