I have not seen X-Files: I Want to Believe yet but all initial reports have basically said the same thing-that it's about as good as a bad episode from the last two seasons. To me that translates as crap but I'll leave you to be the judge.

Yes. I will destroy Hellboy next week. Which I feel bad about because I did really like this one and I am really hoping that it will make enough money for the studios to want to make a 3rd one. Hellboy is kinda of a weird series that not a lot of people get ( I love it) but everyone on the planet and maybe some other planets are going to be seeing The Dark Knight next week.

Generally speaking, I review (along with the crew) first run movies and DVDs upon or near their release. I wish I had time to go back and do full reviews of everything I'd like to but the powers that be won't pay me for that. As far as what I thought about Superman Returns, I think it's an excellent film that unfortunately suffers from a: too much redone from the original and b: fans expected more action. Much like Hancock, because it veered so far off from what people "expect" a superhero movie to be like, it was scorned by many. Singer understands the character quite well and wanted us to understand the side of Superman that isn't an unstoppable god, much like what the comics have been doing.

Speed Racer Movie Review by Raw

In the years of psychedelic anime in the 60’s there was no name bigger than speed racer [He’s a demon wheels you know] with all of the exciting races, quizzical humor, and expositional dialogue. This new retread by the Wachowski brothers is one of the most entertaining summer movies I have ever seen behind Iron man. It’s brilliant, frenzied, and mind blowing tone is just like the certain anime it is based on which was probably exactly what they were aiming to achieve. The story is about Speed Racer, a young ambitious race car driver who has an eccentric encouraging family behind him. When Speed turns down a lucrative deal from royal industries he uncovers a dangerous secret that only he and his family must stop to protect the purity of the sport of race car driving. The directing and writing is amazing with an out of control new narrative style that was confusing at first but when things got going and as the audience you just go with it the narrative blends cohesively with the whole movie. Every actor and actress is pitch perfect with the voices and movements their character performed on the television show. Especially Emile Hirsch is great playing the simple minded ambitious naive title character that has the drive to be as great as his late older brother was at racing. The key to this film is the organic colorful zany visual effects that is apparent in every frame and gives the movie its anime style.
There are some scenes where my jaw was dropped down to the bottom of the popcorn bucket from all the creative racing scenes.

The aerodynamics of the cars fighting each other in mid air while many explosions are going on around them is like nothing I have ever seen before. Even the over the top music, humor and costumes fit the story and the visuals in the movie. This is an amazing piece of work because it is a very a different, odd, film that does not play for the mainstream audience because it goes in many fanatical paths that summer movies never go. There are two major problems with this movie that make it a little hard to watch. The absurd length is so long that makes it very slow in parts which it did not need to be if the movie was 90 minutes than 135 minutes. Bottom Line – The story, tone, races, and writing is absolutely manic. A little long but just let it take over you and you will have a time you will never forget. A entertaining guilty pleasure.

Juno DVD Movie Review By RAW

Juno movie review I love to find little independent movies that are in limited releases in art house theaters. To be able to find sheer brilliance in them and spread how good it is to all my friends is a pleasure. Juno is one of these fine independent films and the best film of the year. Juno is the story of the quirky named Juno Macguff, who is a sharp tongued whipped smart outsider teen who faces the biggest problem in her life - confronting an unplanned pregnancy by her best friend and fellow… Continue

Bank Job Early DVD Review

Bank Job Review by Ryan Wyman In the atrocious period of bad movies coming out through January to April. It is nice to see such a layered, tight, slick entertaining caper flick. This performs every precise step with flawlessness that counteracts any heist movie that has been released in a long time. The Bank Job is the mesmerizing true story of a couple of small- time criminals led by car dealer Terry who is lured by a sad femme fatal, Martine to rob a Bank in gritty London. When breaking into t… Continue

The Spiderwick Chronicles DVD Movie Review

The Spiderwick Chronicles Movie review In the past few years we have seen numerous attempts for a new multimillion dollar big-budget family Fantasy epic Franchise like The Harry potter films. Some have succeeded (narnia films) but many disastrously failed (Golden Compass, Eragon).
Now the problem is with these fantasy films is that they are usually always based on Books that cause the film to be rushed and incohesive. That they constantly try to put masses of story into these films that just sim… Continue
