Now its no revelation that everyone has a movie that they feel is drastically overrated, but what are the movies you feel that are better than the one you feel is overrated? They have to be very similar in some shape or form or the comparison is stupid. For my money I prefer The Land Before Time over The Lion King Now don't worry people I'm not going to go on a rampage in saying that The Lion King is communist or anything, no no no no no, I'm not Carlyle. I just feel The Land Before Time is a…See More

So Bradley Cooper starts off as a science fiction writer. An occupation which requires some sort of passion i would believe. So then when he is having some writers block, he decides to take this drug to make himself smarter. He does become smarter and he finishes the book in 4 days and it's supposedly amazing. After that he completely abandon's his writing career and he decides to have a career in the stock market. To me it's like the movie is saying "Smart people don't pursue a career in the…See More

Most and least deserving Best Picture Oscar winners (A retrospective look)

With the Academy Awards just a few weeks away, I feel that it is relevant to talk about the most/least Best Picture winners. I use the term retrospective because i feel that while the Best Picture says that movie that won was the best film of that year, a lot of times those movies are the talk of the town then but then are completely forgotten about in a couple of years or so. In fact there are many movies that might have been nominated that have stand the test of time, and are more loved than…See More

2010: The "Kids" are taking over.

Has anyone else noticed all of the critical darlings this year? Do they look like they have anything in common? Well, to me it seems like 2010 was a great year for young Hollywood!Let's start off with the most critically praised movie of the year "The Social Network." It's a film dominated by young actor's, most of which are still under 30. It's starting off to be a favorite for best picture at the Oscars, plus a well deserved best actor nod for Jesse Eisenberg. While I was watching the movie I…See More

The Summer of Carnage!! 2010 Edition

*please note: I use the word carnage to make a point, it really isn't meant to be taking literally. To be honest it just sounds better. Now the concept of the action summer blockbuster isn't a new. Every year we get that one, or two, possibly three action movies (I will be calling them violent movies for the purposes of this blog). Last year almost seemed a little historic, we had Star Trek, Transformers 2, Terminator Salvation, and maybe debatable in terms of action (but not violence)…See More

No, I've seen it. When I talked about Match Point in my article, I mentioned that I thought the film suffered from having two really good plots that didn't mesh together that well. To me, the film suffered from major mood whiplash in a bad way whenever it transitioned from Woody Allen's more comedic storyline to Martin Landau's darker dramatic storyline. So, I thought Point did a better job by focusing on that Landau storyline and fleshing it out.

I really liked it, but I think that major flaw keeps it from being one of the best.

In Spill most people start with the video reviews. If you like those enough, then listen to the audio reviews and then there main shows ACOCO, LEOG & LDT (A Couple Of Cold Ones, League of Extra Ordinary Gentleman & Let's Do This).
