The Austin Spill Party 2009 is coming along nicely. I've already got a few things in the works. Now all I need is an idea about how many people will be there.
Well, yeah, as I pointed out me on LEOG is a persona-just like Cyrus and Leon and Jason-I reserve a lot of my deeper conversations for my own FAQs because that's a place where I can be more detail oriented and have a legitimate discussion instead of being one of five to six very opinionated guys on a podcast (and even though I'm the loudest you must trust me that each one of us loves the sound of our own voice).
I certainly understand Marvel's popularity right now but for me Quesada is something like an updated Jim Shooter. He came along, did some amazing things and then went crazy and did some very bad things. I'm just kind of sick of massive crossovers. Secret Invasion had a fan in me but I found its ending rather uninspired. As I said on our SI themed episode I was hoping for it to establish some new parameters in the Marvel-verse and instead it ends with a psychotic murderer being made director of SHEILD (WTF?!?!?). After CIvil War, SI and now Dark Reign I'm just crossovered out.
Thank you for actually answering and not just sticking to the "dude you suck" bit. I appreciate it.
Well, those are valid enough criticisms. However it seems to me you're doing a bit of cherry picking. For all the times I mention stuff I think that sucks I am more than forthcoming about the things that I love (hey, check out my FAQs-about 80% of it is me clueing people into great stuff). As far as Quesada-I'll admit we are getting a little shticky about that (although I am willing to drop a shtick-notice the Werewolf thing has more or less dried up) but I legitimately believe the man has ruined Marvel-despite this I have given him props for his original contributions. And Loeb-I think the guy is a hack but I can only recall one instance I mentioned his son-most of those comments have been from Jason. But it may have slipped out-I am to an extent a comedian (often a drunk one)doing a character-mine happens to be a know it all who's a bit of a jerk. All this boils down to is what I do is not your cup of tea. I can't say I'm gonna change (for one thing, I'm just a loud obnoxious guy when I'm talking about comics and such with my friends and I just can't help interrupting and trying to be "clever"). I am sorry that this spoils some of the effect of LEOG for you though and I assure you no offense is meant.
Oh, and I can assure you I NEVER EVER EVER hate something based on it's popularity or coolness. I like what I like and hate what I hate. Period. And that'll never change.
