It’s that time of year again. The closing of January. It’s when I put up my ‘best of’ list. I give myself an additional month to play catch up, as a lot of the better movies are released at the tail end of the year.
I have seen 132 movies released in the year 2010, and I can honestly say that there weren’t a whole lot of surprises pulled this year. Most of what I was excited for turned out to be my favorites of the year, and the rest fell where they…

oh yeah, kids are still into star wars these days. if all the merchandise and the hit tv show are any giveaways. the tv show is very successful, and actually, if you sit down and watch it with an open mind, is actually a pretty good show. it has the style of flash gordon, an old time serial, which was one of the things that inspired lucas to make star wars. so easily thats where the show's setup came from. but its not just a kid thing cash in, it has good stories to tell.
i agree with most of what you said. but the star wars hardcore fans will see it in 3d. and if they release it at a downtime during the year (ie, not summer), they can really bring in some money from the fans, the general public, and newer fans.
"This is going to bomb.
Name any theatrical re-release that's made a surmountable amount of money. Even good movies, like Avatar or The Dark Knight don't even crack the top ten upon their re-release.
And why would anybody pay more money for a film that they already know is shit?"
i dont think you understand the power of star wars. when they were re-released in the 90's, they took in a lot of money and did break the top ten of the week. taking the top spot a lot of the time.
something else, kids will want to see this, because its 3D, and they watch the TV show. plus, regardless what you think, the common movie goer doesnt troll on the internet and doesnt have such a strict opinion of the original trilogy, so theyre gonna see it too.
what im saying, its going to make money. why im telling you? honestly, ive got nothing better to do right now

Glad you liked Preacher. Ennis and Dillon did an incredible run on Hellblazer before they made Preacher and they also did probably the best run on The Punisher that's ever been published.
The Ennis Helblazer books are: Tainted Love, Damnation's Flame, Fear and Loathing and Rake at the Gates of Hell.
The Punisher: Welcome Home Frank is the best collection of Ennis and Dillon on the series (although all the Punisher stuff under The Max Imprint are worth a checkout).
As far as non Ennis stuff you should check out Warren Ellis work, particularly Transmetropolitan and The Authority.
Happy hunting. Check me out on The Lounge Geeks if you want to hear from me more often: Jason, Randy and I post Loose Canon weekly-a video/audio cast dedicated to comics.
