If it's crap ... We'll tell you
I recently decided to get involved with my local radio station (SYN fm). After training I decided that I'd apply my fairly vast film knowledge into a radio show. So I started Directors Suite, a show…Continue

What do you think of his values? I mean even though he only targets criminals on occasion hes killed innocent people by mistake and has left people to die. Thoughts?

Hey guys, i decided to post this here because it's not exactly general movie shit. I would really appreciate some constructive criticism on my idea for a post apocalyptic film. I’m a 15 year old…Continue

Cyrus argues that the first 20 minutes of Cloverfield are just that: great character setup. I'm still planning on watching it sometime, just to see. If nothing else the "Groverfield" parody tee shirt made me curious...
I saw it for the first time about a year and a half ago, with a group of grad school friends, on a big screen in one of the classrooms at the University, as part of our own little "Movies Everyone Should See" series. I honestly thought it was one of the most boring films I'd ever watched. It had some good bits of dialogue, and I "got" the point that it was trying to convey. I just didn't find it at all enjoyable. The only scene I found at all entertaining was in the war room, toward the end, when Strangelove himself shows up.
I wish I could put my finger on it, or give some more specifics. All I can say is that it just didn't appeal to me in the least. I can appreciate it as art, and as a film which makes a political and social statement, and as a valuable primary source which reflects the concerns and attitudes of the time in which it was made. I just didn't like it, though.
