Because Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Spaced, and even lil' old Asylum are awesome. Mental institutions, gunfights, imaginary gunfights, car chases, dogs that can't look up, dancing Irish zombies... is there anything that these men cannot do?

A while back, in a session of a ACOCO August 4 2008, Carlyle mentions about the head of Fox, Tom Rothman and why there has been a decline in quality at Fox. At first it didn't bother me, but then I looked him up and realized what a complete fuck u...

Well, I say toss Polanski's ass in jail.
(Bit long response. lol)

From what I understand. He once plead guilty to a "lesser charge" to avoid a "rape" charge. When the judge agreed to that plea bargain, it was understood that he would face a little jail time (Like maybe a year or less) and have to make some payments to the child. But, somewhere between the plea bargain and serving that time, the judge decided to INCREASE the time supposed to be spend in jail. Polanski then decided to flee the country.

So, to me. There isn't an issue about being "Guilty or not", because he ALREADY entered a plea of guilty to charges. The "little girl" has grown up and said she doesn't want a trial, even those his PLEA means there shouldn't be a trial. He simply never faced his punishment that was supposed to have happened years ago. Since he's been "on the run" for so many years now from the US legal system, he should face the time that he agreed to in his original plea bargain. And maybe another year or two for being a known fugitive too.

His age, only means he'll get a prison like Martha Stewart was in, a really LOW-security prison. However, I don't think he deserves to "rot away in prison" either, so not saying lock him up and throw the key away. But, I am saying that he needs to spend time behind bars JUST LIKE WE WOULD DO if you entered a plea bargain agreement of "Guilty" to a lesser charge.

I get how these days its getting harder standing out from hundreds of other critics trying to make a living. And even how it requires taking extreme measures to get noticed. But he doesn't put the least bit of effort hinting to his readers that he's being facetious/contradicting. He writes it all as if he really means it. Most offended I was by one of his reviews was 500 Days of Summer when he criticized the leads for just being smart and white. No person in the world can seriously accuse Up of simplifying life yet recommend a movie where an 40-year old man child asks his sister to say, "Skeeter's the coolest, I am a nerd".

The less you see, the better.

Last night, my mum and I finished up watching the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and I had noticed something about it: It does the tactic of "the less you see, the scarier/creepier it is". I admire that kind of tactic still being used these days, espicaly in a world with Hostel and Saw. So, allow me to go over films that to the tactic. Waring though: The following post contains spoilers from films, so you've been warned.

Saw (2004).

[REC]: A review and why I like it more than Quarantine

I like zombies. I like shaky cam films. So, when [REC] was released, I wanted to get my grubby little hands on it and snatch it up. However, thanks to God, I could not find it anywhere. And then I looked it up on IMDB and no release date was set for the film. I was ANGRY! Then I h… Continue
