1. Inception - do I really have to explain this? I mean it's by no means perfect, but it's definitely better than everything else this year.2. Kick-Ass - Hey what can I say, this was a pleasant surprise, I really went into this thinking it was gonna be super lame and loved it. Thought the action was great, even Nick Cage wasn't bad. And that says a lot.3. Toy Story 3 - I know what you're thinking, "Toy Story 3 was better than Kick-Ass!, idiot!" Well, I was really entertained by it. I think it's…See More

Review: Superman Red Son

Every Superman story is the fucking same and it always comes off as lazy writing but in this one, I especially thought the ending with the time travel thing was one of the cheapest and worst endings ever. And I don't like Wonder Woman in anything, that thunder-theighed, amazon bitch. Who is she supposed to appeal to? Her only role in this comic, besides providing the obligatory filler love story side plot so that the comic could be over 100 pages, is to get tied up on her knees by batman and…See More

My issue with a film's rewatchability criteria...

Ya know, something I've never quite understood about film critics as well as a lot of amature film snobs is that one of their standards for judging movies is often a movie's "rewatchability factor." My problem with this is that what it necessarily implies is that if you watch a movie once and love it but the second viewing isn't as good, then the movie isn't that good as you had initially thought it was. Rather, they'd prefer an extremely dense movie that reveals new gems upon repeat viewings…See More

Recipe For The Perfect Movie!

I got to thinking that my perfect movie, if it ever existed, would haveto be something of the grand scale of a Christopher Nolan movie. I knowpeople are Chris Nolan-ed to death lately. But to me, there is no onetoday who makes movies which seem so huge and epic as the Dark Knightand Inception. You just don't see that. So I want him to direct it.But, although I love his movies when I walk out of the theater, themore I pick my brain, the more I come up with plot holes and littlethings that don't…See More

My Movie Making Dream Team

I got to thinking that my perfect movie, if it ever existed, would have to be something of the grand scale of a Christopher Nolan movie. I know people are Chris Nolan-ed to death lately. But to me, there is no one today who makes movies which seem so huge and epic as the Dark Knight and Inception. You just don't see that. Plus, unlike a lot of directors out there he cares a lot about the script. I know it sounds like a no brainer but look around you, how many movies out there today were dead on…See More

American Splendor

This has been one of my favorite movies since I first saw it in '03. I always wanted to read the series. The other day I finally ordered myself a copy of the dvd. Strangely enough I just read while researching this question a few minutes ago that Harvey Pekar actually died just 3 or 4 days ago. It's kind of disheartening. I'm not gonna pretend I knew the guy or anything, but I was just watching the movie and thinking how awesome it was that he is still around.Well anyway, I just wanted to know…See More

Comic Storage/ Display

Hey Spillerinos, I wrote this thread a few weeks ago looking for suggestions on how to creatively yet effectively store and display my comics now that I am settled in a new place. Well, sadly I didn't get any suggestions from you but I went out to a couple of stores for inspiration and came up with a pretty cool solution. I have decided I'd like to share my idea with you because it's working so well for me and there are enough of you upon whom I don't wish dead and would like to help if at all…See More

Once in a while a movie comes along that is so bad that it makes me want to write about it. SPLICE is that movie.

**SPOILERS** This movie was a mess. It was just horrible. Everyone in the theater including myself was laughing throughout the movie. The people who wrote this had the maturity level and understanding of story telling of 14 year olds. This might have been a good short film of 20 minutes or so, but this plot could not carry an hour and a half to two hour long movie.

First of all, the plot is completely unoriginal. Scientists "playing God," go too far, create a monster, monster is… Continue

I'm glad they chose Daft Punk to do the soundtrack.

Yeah, Gamer seems to want to please all those Gears of War/video game junkies which is cool but I think if you want to watch a film with more originality and Indie weirdness then you should have had Where the Wild Things Are or Taking Woodstock on your list.

"So secular law takes precedence?"

No, but I am to follow the law unless it causes me to sin.

How am I a hypocrite when speaking about slavery?

Slavery was wrong in america because it was racial and treated black people as not being human.

No prob, but just a heads up you might want to check out the TV show that goes before it first. If you want to know what it is its called Firefly.
