Epic Reviews takes on: Prince of Persia: The Movie

Director: Mike NewellRelease Date: 21st May(UK)Starring: Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, Sir Ben Kingsley, Alfred MolinaGenre: Action/AdventureThe idea of the good video game based film has so far eluded Hollywood. From the dire films of Uwe Boll right through to the God awful Max Payne movie, every attempt thus far to make a decent film out of the interactive medium has failed miserably. It’s therefore with great pleasure that I can report that, though not an unqualified success, Prince of…See More

Epic Reviews takes on: Kick-Ass

Exploding gangsters, McLovin as a superhero and a twelve year old girl who says the C word before mutilating a bunch of gangsters. These are just some of the ingredients which come together to create the absolute insanity that is Matthew Vaughn’s latest film, Kick-Ass. Superman it ain’t.Adapted from the brilliant comic book series by Mark Millar, Kick-Ass is the story of Dave Lizewski, an average guy who dresses up in a diving outfit and goes out to fight crime in spite of the fact that he’s…See More

Epic Reviews takes on: Inglorious Basterds

Inglorious Basterds is the newest film from Quentin Tarantino, a man who has undoubtedly had a massive influence on modern cinema since the early nineties when he first surfaced with the brilliant Reservoir Dogs (currently my favourite movie ever!) and Pulp fiction. However, his section of Grindhouse, Death Proof, has been criticised by some as showing that he had gone off the boil somewhat and lost his golden touch invoking too much dialogue and failing to keep the film interesting. Does his…See More

( A discussion for another time , but we get the Dark Knight a…See More
