Ten Movies I Would Love to See Now!!!

With one of my favorite series getting a sequel soon, Toy Story 3, I have been thinking of movies that I would love to see made. Some of these movies are sequels, with the first not really lending to a sequel, but I would very much like to see more of the story developed. I tried to think of movies that aren't in development, or even talked about, but movies I would just personally like to see.

A couple of these films are sequels, while most of these films are based off other things.

Tractor Thoughts: Episode 2 Miyazaki

Another week of mowing and I thought about Miyazaki and his films. Well the three films of his that I have seen.

There really are no films quite like Miyazaki films. The only films, to me anyway, that can measure up to Miyazaki films are the Disney/Pixar films, but thats another blog, maybe.

Each film is imaginative, completely unique yet familar, and full of heart. For example:

Spirited Away

Tractor Thoughts: Episode 1 Alien

Enough with the countdowns for a while. Since it takes me several hours every week to mow my yard, it gives me ample amount of time to let my mind wonder on anything and everything.

This series is about me dissecting a movie, good or bad, and seeing why these movies work, or don't work, and how these films are unique to other films.

Since this is the first in a series, I hope, I might as well start with a classic.

Alien, and I guess the series too

My Top Ten Overrated Movies

The title just says it all. These are movies I believe, be they good or bad, that are overrated. Everyone who reads this should know that I only hate two of these films, so it is not a hate rant, as much as it may sound. Of course this is nothing but my opinion, so just remember this is my list not yours. I can deal with critism, but not hate mail.

I hope you guys like my second list.

My Top Ten "Epic" Movies

Since I hear the word "epic" so much, especially when talking about movies, I have thought of a list of movies that I believe actually are Epic.

Here are my guidelines that I followed: 1) It has to be a movie, but I think a few mini-series can classify as movies. 2) The movie has to take place over a period of years, or the story has to be very rich and grand. 3) As long as the story continues, I view sequels as part of an epic.

I hope you enjoy my list.

Spirited Away Vs. Princess Mononoke?

Personally I think that the reason Spirited Away always gets "Top billing" between those two movies is because of the HIGHLY active involvement of Disney to get it into theaters. If it WAS NOT for Disney's involvement in getting the movie into US theaters, I doubt anyone would ever question which was better. Personally, I'm still happy that Prince was done without such a big push by Disney. Because Spirited Away is the ONLY film of Miyazaki's that I constantly overlook, because I always associate it with Disney more.

Yeah, I have to admit that when I was looking into things that were "Family friendly" to do for the list, I sort of hit a brick wall for Oklahoma. There was the "Nature Attic" and some concert. That was it, didn't have much to work with, so by default I had to do the "Family friendly" think with the Nature Attic.

However, I don't blame you either. I wouldn't go 100 miles just to dick around at a zoo when I could find a weekend party at college. lol

I work in a movie theatre, and we get advance listings in our box office of tickets currently available in our system. Our list was updated last week, and Ponyo was one of the films. Last time I was in the box office, I looked it up to see if it was really in our computer, and sure enough, it was.
