I loved the hell out of Quantic Dream's first cinematic game, Fahrenheit (aka Indigo Prophecy). It was almost the best game ever, if it weren't for where it went completely off the rails in the third act. Other than that, it was one of the best expe…

Princess and the Frog is amazing! If this keeps up, the 2010's will be the new 90's for Disney.

Vindication! or how I learned to stop worrying and call out the true Stinkers of 2009

Many months ago, I wrote a bit about what I predicted would be the worst films of 2009. Well, seeing as it's 2010 at last, I can finally evaluate my profession as a cinematic soothsayer. Here's the results

Predicted Stinker 1: Obsessed

Results:
CALLED IT
19% Rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

As I thought, a predictable, indulgent crapper of a movie.

Predicted Stinker 2: X-Men Origins: Wolver… Continue

Roman Polanski Finally Arrested for Rape

The legendary fugitive director was finally apprehended by law officials for his Statutory Rape charge from back in 1978, wherein he drugged and sexually assaulted a 13 year old girl, Samantha Geimer.

While Polanski has successfully stayed outside of US jurisdiction since then, avoiding trial for his crime, he finally made a fatal mistake on Sunday, September 27th… Continue

Disney buys Marvel! Permafrost in Hell soon expected!

In what is possibly the most confusing business move this year (or even this decade), Disney has announced that they plan to buy the comic giant Marvel for $4 Billion dollars.

Robert Iger, chief executive at Disney, said this:

“We believe that adding Marvel to Disney’Continue

Matt's Retro-Reviews: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998)

I am a very lucky guy. I was blessed enough to just find a copy of Terry Gilliam’s Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas on the Wal-Mart shelves recently. The legendary word-of-mouth about both the film and the book had me interested and 9 dollars wasn’t much to lay down for this movie. Oh, what a bargain, what a bargain!

This movie is fantastic. I’ve watched it 8 times since pu… Continue

As if Up itself didn't make cry enough...

Now this happens.

Colby Curtin, a 10 year old girl from Huntington Beach, CA was dying of cancer. While she desperately wanted to see Pixar's Up, she could not be moved safely to a theater for health concerns.

Enter Pixar.

After being notified by the family's plight, Pixar sent out a representative with a DVD of the film to give Colby a private showing. As if th… Continue

That's very true. I simply used that example because A. ALL Disney cartoons have that kid friendly cutesy character (and in that film the gargoyles were that) and B. they annoyed the living crap out of me. It's a shame really, because I quite like quite a few of the sequences in that film.

Hey buddy, if you expected Wanted to be realistic, you should have never have seen it on the first place, I don't know why everybody hated it so much, I mean, if they read they graphic novel, they would have probably hated that more.
