I know we all hate remakes, but...

Ok, lets be honest here. Remakes really can go either way. Either they take a dump on the franchise or they revitalize it. There are some films out there that really need some kind of reboot. In these cases, like with last year's The Incredible Hulk, a director can take the best elements of a story and build on them. The following films in my opinion could be remade into absolute classics:

The Bone Collector

The Top 5 of 2009 so far

There are a glut of films coming out in the next half of 2009, and I can't wait for some of them. The new Harry Potter movie, Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus, Bruno, The Hurt Locker, Up (which hasn't come out in the UK yet), and more that I'll list at the end. But so far, at least in my opinion, only six or seven films have been worth a damn this year. I have compiled a top five, really a rough top five, but one that I want to post. This will probably change in a few months, so I will be curious to… Continue

Terminator Salvation Review by Matt 93

>I'm going to be honest here. I had no idea what to expect with this movie. Its a completely different film to the previous trilogy, so what made those movies good might not work as well here in what is essentially a war movie. I went into the theatre blind, which I suppose gave me an element of impartiality.

Just to quickly sum up how I felt about the previous three films, I don't really have any major complaints. The first film is an undeniable classic of modern science fiction, and the se… Continue

The Best Trek films - with the new one!

In my first post ever, I gave my opinion on my top 10 Star Trek movies. Now there are 11. So where does the new film go? As promised, the list is back and updated. Also, I've made a couple of changes, cause I have slightly new views on a couple of the films. In my opinion:

The Bad

11 - The Final Frontier

Can't really say anymore than I did, it still sucks ass.

The Fairly Good

10 - Generations

This got worse for me. It has dropped from 8th to 10th because… Continue

I can understand being disappointed considering Pixar's track record. At least it's better than Cars(I don't hate it, but it's hard to watch it again.)

Why do you have Ratatouille on your All-Time Worst lists? I loved the movie! I think it's one of Pixar's(and Brad Bird's) weaker films, but it's still heads and shoulders over some other family movies I've seen.

Well I just purchased Star Wars: the original trilogy dvd box set (i had the original's on bolth Beta & VHS Tapes & "Superman/Batman: Public Enemies". With the new line up of movies that are coming out, I want to see "Disney's A Christmas Carol"," Sherlock Holmes", "The Wolfman" (2010) & few more ( the rest of them have escaped me at the moment). I have a question to ask you, I know that this movie is a few years old, but what did you think about 'Superman Returns"?

i'm just replying to your "Have you seen Star Trek yet": I have, i'm not that big of a Star Trek fan, (I used to like it alot) but i'm more into Star Wars now (As you can see, because of my Stormtrooper icon). From what I saw at the theatre's it was not that bad of a movie, but it confused the hell out of me for a while (Old Spock meeting young Spock....WTF! one way to fuck up the space time continuem! Over all the movie was not that bad, but it can't beet the original show & the next generation by itself (those were the only two show's I really enjoyed in my childhood until my dad let me watch Star Wars). From what i'm guessing they' will make a sequel maybe around..um...maybe 2012?

Probably some of you have already read it or heard it on the latest LDT, but it’s just a reminder.

The final date for Amsterdam Spill Party is October 17th.

Hope to meet you all there,

Check out Easyjet, I've booked a weekend flight in August, to London, for only 85 Euro, all-in. I reckon it will be cheaper come November, the earlier you book, the better. Ryan Air also has great deals, but they land in Eindhoven (2,5 hr by train, from Amsterdam)

You’re probably thinking, “What do you mean? Isn’t that why it’s called Sci-Fi?” Well, yes and no. The method in which science is woven into the storyline has much to do in determining to what degree true science plays a part in a movie. It may b...
