Congratulations, you bitchy Evangelion fanboys, you got your movie. Evangelion 1.0 is probably one of the most faithful movie adaptations you'll ever get (or at least one you'll bitch the least about). It follows the original story, makes no dras...

So far, it's not knocking me out of my seat. The special effects are great, but the characters aren't winning me over especially with some poor acting. The promos look better than these first eight minutes. And what is up with that ending song? Wh...

Madness Mark thinks "Evangelion 1.0 - You Are (Not) Alone" needs an upgrade

Congratulations, you bitchy Evangelion fanboys, you got your movie. Evangelion 1.0 is probably one of the most faithful movie adaptations you'll ever get (or at least one you'll bitch the least about). It follows the original story, makes no drastic changes, updates the animation while not disturbing the designs, and it even keeps the same shots. This is the perfect… Continue

Madness Mark was mind-raped by Xavier: Renegade Angel (and enjoyed it)

Xavier is a very hard character to explain (at least physically). In short, he is a mystic, hairy, six-nippled, blonde, beaked freak with a snake for an arm and knees that bend in the opposite direction. Much like David Carradine in Kung-Fu, Xavier travels the land to impart his spiritual knowledge to others, whether they want his help or not. However, his ramblings usually end up making things worse. And… Continue

Battlestar Galactica Season 4.5 Blu-Ray Review

I'm still angry at Universal for releasing seasons like this in halves, charging about the same amount as the full seasons. However, despite the prices, the DVDs are real nice and now that they're in Blu-Ray they look gorgeous. I give up, Universal! Anyway, Battlestar Galactica Season 4.5 is the final season and while it has it's ups and downs, it's virtually filler free and still keeps me… Continue

Astro Boy review by Madness Mark

‘They’re going to screw this up’. That is how I felt about western adaptations of anime. Heck, I still feel that way with movies like Dragonball Evolution enforcing that point. But then there are movies like Astro Boy which prove that studios can do something meaningful with a license without completely cow-towing to the fans or selling out to make a quick buck.

Astro Boy takes pla… Continue

Yes, most of the anime I listed are by the same director, Makoto Shinkai, but Mamoru Hosoda directed The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. If Voices of a Distant Star and The Place Promised in Our Early Days were too long for you, then you don't have to worry b/c 5 Centimeters per Second is only 63 minutes long and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is only 93 minutes long.

Heya! Nice 2 hear from you and Sarah. Really loved your blogs on Adult Swim shows and Anime WITHOUT School Girls, Ninjas, or Giant Robots. If you like serious/really good modern anime, you should also check out the following anime movies: 5 Centimeters per Second, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, The Place Promised in Our Early Days, and Voices of a Distant Star (even though it does have giant robots)

Actually, they are finished with the Harry Potter 6. Alan Horn stated there were no production snags and its "fabulous". I want this film to be the best it can be too, and if this film was delayed for the reasons you brought up, I'd totally understand. But they're only doing it for a box office strategy. They're not changing the film at all.
