I gotta be honest, the whole "What if Spill may not exist anymore" thing  and Hollywood.com cleaning house is starting to scare me. I've been here for 2 years and seeing it go down like this is almost heartbreaking. I don't ever, ever, ever plan on leaving the site. Plus, I really need to put my content on other sites so it won't fade away.

I'd say it's a pretty good rendering of Jason. I'd say just keep working on it. Try inking it and really working on creating strong outlines and maybe move on to adding color to it to liven it up

The Second type doesn't bother me. I've very much of the opinion of people can like what they can like, understand what they understand, and will determine what's too dark or to candy coated. I've never had someone make we wanna say something in complete disregard of their comment. I.E. Didn't understand it or thought it was too dark or sweet ect.
