Sorry buddy...but your defenses of Sucker Punch fail. I was gonna respond in detail on your LDT comment, but too many people posted by the time I was done, so I'll just keep it short and post it directly to you:
Sucker Punch at the end of the day is one long Lady Gaga video. It tries to tell a story way too overly complex for its own good by throwing throws in a bunch of crazy wild random imagery everywhere, then either has some lazily tacked on "message" at the very end in attempts to bring it all together or the author of the product goes around explaining what it realllllly meant. Then defensive fans start making up their own speculations based on some more flimsy-at-best premises that create more questions than answers.
Just saying something is a metaphor without it relating and connecting to something else doesn't make it a metaphor. The bone-to-satellite transition in 2001: A Space Odyessy is a metaphor. Machine Gun Ninjas and 50 ft. dragons aren't representing a damn thing. Just as Lady Gaga's "Alejandro" video failed to express "the plight of soldiers having to deal with Don't Ask Don't Tell" or whatever her explanation was, Sucker Punch failed to express any of the so called "deeper meanings" it was going for and relies on people like you going "MAYBE this and MAYBE that" to give it credit for doing something it couldn't.
