About Me:
I know a LOT about films. From Altman to Zucker.

Think carefully before you tell me whether or not a film is good or bad. I can rationalize that Desperado is every bit as artistically credible as 2001: A Space Odyssey. I'll tell you that The Spirit is a better comic book movie than The Dark Knight. Seriously. I've written really long, really good essays on this shit.

There are at least two sides to every story, and you should take a good look at all of them before casting your judgement. If you're unable to approach something with an open mind, feel free to drown in your own excrement; I have no use for you.
All Time Favorite Movies:
Desperado, Sin City, Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill, Crank, Rango, Watchmen, Eraserhead, MacGruber, Hot Rod, Fight Club, Scarface, The Godfather, The Player, Evil Dead, X-Men, Hellboy, A Scanner Darkly, Blade Runner, Alien, Lord of the Rings, Machine Girl, Metal: A Headbanger's Journey, Adaptation, Science of Sleep, Gladiator, Sunshine, Pi, Videodrome, Moulin Rouge!, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, Pineapple Express, Knocked Up, Coraline, The Rock, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Princess, Heavy Traffic, Fritz the Cat, Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro, and many many more.
All Time Worst Movies:
NOTE: you're not going to find films like The Room or Troll 2 here. "so bad they're good" movies do NOT count. these are films that I absolutely despise and have no redeeming qualities in my eyes.

Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest, Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, X-Men: The Last Stand, Ghost Rider, Night at the Museum, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, Good Luck Chuck, Twilight Saga: New Moon, Disaster Movie, Super Mario Bros, Pearl Harbor... I have to think of some more
Favorite Actors or Actresses:
Nicolas Cage, Anthony Hopkins, Christopher Lee, James Woods, Kurt Russell, Vincent Price, Elizabeth Banks, Keanu Reeves, Hugo Weaving, Liam Neeson, Leslie Nielsen, Ron Perlman, Hugh Jackman, Viggo Mortensen, Jason Statham, Dennis Hopper, Tim Robbins, Jack Black, Seth Rogen, Harvey Keitel, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Willem Dafoe, and many many more.
Favorite Directors:
David Lynch, Robert Rodriguez, Quentin Tarantino, Rob Zombie, Zack Snyder, Akira Kurosawa, Robert Altman, Clint Eastwood, Danny Boyle, Judd Apatow, Ralph Bakshi, Satoshi Kon, Hayao Miyazaki, Darren Aronofsky, David Cronenberg... there are just too many filmmakers that I deeply admire.

I haven't seen Samurai 7 yet, but I've heard it's a pretty good remake.

Kurosawa himself was a fan of The Magnificent Seven, and it's been far too long since I last saw it for me to really comment on it, except that I thought it was enjoyable but (obviously) inferior to the original.

I can't say I have seen Sunshine, but given I've read quite a few of your post and fully agree, not to mention that your favorite movie list was stolen from me (seriously, get out of my head, it's really lonely in there), I'll give it a watch if you say so :) Cheers!
