On July 5th - 7th Spill.com and Rooster Teeth are partnering together to bring you Spill Dot Con at RTX! For those of you that aren't familiar with Rooster Teeth, they are an Austin based website that was made popular by their 'Red vs Blue' Halo machinima series as well as their 'Achievement Hunter' videos. Gripmonster Review: The Hobbit

There has never been a point in my life when I wished I wasn't a Hobbit. I never wore shoes when I was a kid and all I ever wanted to do since I saw The Fellowship of the Ring was live in the Shire eating and partying Middle-Earth style all night long. So the Hobbit race has always been strangely close to me, making me all the happier that all the legal shit and general filmmaking woes have finally been sorted out and the first of three new movies has made it's way to theatres. As many have…See More

Nick Hodges is not a Cum Stain, or a Wazzock,He is Cool And we Love him

He's Not a Cum Stain or a WazzockThis is a Message to Nick from The Halfrican ( and anyone who agrees with the following statement)The Following Statment does not reflect the views of the Spill Group: "Nick Hodges is not a Cum Stain, or a Wazzock,He is Cool And we Love him"I'm sorry Nick, this is the internet, the only thing harder to read than a woman, you have to take the hate with the love, because although many people give their genuine opinion of something, many many more are not sincere…See More

Gripmonster Review: The Dark Knight Rises

I can't remember the last time a film has come along with such impossibly high expectations as The Dark Knight Rises. It's a sequel to one of my all-time favorite movies, one of the best things about it was an actor who is now deceased, and director Christopher Nolan has since become God to every film student and angry fanboy on the internet. Well there's a god damn reason for that as this writer/director has managed to live up to those expectations. I wouldn't say he exceeded them as I don't…See More

Gripmonster Review: The Amazing Spider-Man

I might be going harder on The Amazing Spider-Man than I should because I do think this is a well-made summer blockbuster. However, in the shadow of The Avengers and only 10 years after Raimi's version it's fairly underwhelming. Even with all that aside and judging it solely as a film, it is still a huge stretch to call this amazing by any sense of the word. I have no doubt that hardcore Spider-Man fans will dig the shit out of this because it is closer to the comics and provides…See More

Gripmonster Review: Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter

For a long time I have had trouble understanding the concept of a guilty pleasure.  I don't know why I should feel guilty about liking a movie of all things; how can I say a movie is terrible if I enjoyed watching it? Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter may have solved this dilemma of mine. All throughout this movie I was wondering why exactly I was enjoying it so much and if everyone else was going to hate it. There are a ton of things that are wrong with this movie, except that there are enough…See More

Gripmonster Review: Snow White and the Huntsman

For those of you who don't obsessively keep up with movie news, several people in Hollywood all had the same idea of taking a well-known fairy tale and giving it a modern and stylistic treatment. While Snow White and the Huntsman is far better than the atrocious Red Riding Hood and Mirror Mirror, the other Snow White movie from just a few months ago, this isn't close to the movie that it should have been. There's plenty of potential here as first-time director Rupert Sanders and everyone…See More

Gripmonster Review: Men in Black 3

It's funny how Men in Black 3 would introduce time travel into the mix because at no point while watching it did I feel like I was in 2012. The original was one of my favorite movies at a kid and it feels like a product of its time, which unfortunately weighs down the third installment. Despite a script that feels as if it was written over a week in 2002, there are enough decent moments to keep the film enjoyable and an improvement over the first sequel. It's not a rehash of the original like…See More

Well, good sir, thank you for the invite. I really did like your 2011 best of list (even though some films I didn't exactly...agree with). Anyway, just made my worst of and will work on my best of later on. Once again, thanks for the invite.
